There are a number of Marine Reserve Centers in New England where a Marine can be assigned to Inspector-Instructor staff. It is a three to four year assignment and involves the administration and training of Reserve Marines. However most of those are Staff NCO grade assignments.
He could also be assigned to the Marine Barracks at Newport Rhode Island or the Submarine Base at Groton, Connecticut.

Marines are usually stationed at Naval instillations as there aren't a lot of Marine Corp Bases in the US. Mostly in Quantico,Virginia and California unless he is a recruiter.
