Do you think it is important for members of a particular culture to retain some distinct food customs? Why or Why Not?

I dont think that cultures try to distinguish their cuisine from other cultures on purpose it just happens because of tradition. I wouldn't say that it is necessary or that important but it obviously does happen and it does have an impact on the culture.

No I do not think its important at all.
As a matter of fact most cultural food is bad for you. Some even dangerous.
It is better to follow good eating standards. And eat healthy.

Of course many of the older cultures have their traditional foods that we now call "bush tucker". Food that the natives can find in the wild that we are now only finding out how good they are, to eat and as medicinal recipes..
