Is this litter a planned one? If so, you might have been taking her temperature....a temp that stays below 100 for a day is a sign of pending labor......along w/ signs in the 1st anwser you received.

For the most part, dogs shouldn't be left alone.......there can be complications.....keep an eye on her to make sure when labor does start, the pups don't get stuck in the birth canal or even eaten (yes, it happens)....don't confuse the mom cleaning the pups w/ eating them though!

Nature should take its course. You might have to help the pups nurse, make sure mom doesn't lay/sit on them, etc.

Well when a dog is in labor they will want to go into a dark place like under a bed or a couch. They arent going to eat or drink anything about 4 hours before the birth. She will start to get really restless. You should make the dog a whelping box so you know where she will have the babys and make sure she eats the little sacky thing when they are born or the will sufficate. My mom is a dog breeder and ive seen a lot of her dogs give birth. When she is having them you should just check on her and leave her be because some dogs will get stressed and not want the puppies anymore.I hope this helps.

You bred your dog 58-63 days ago approx right?? And what have you learned, or done in the last 2 months?? NOTHING? one of the first things you would have learned had you done any reading or research, is how to tell when she is in labour.. Hmmmm... You breed your litter and do your research... Why aren't you doing at very least some reading before you bring this litter into the world???

That is a horrible question to ask someone on Yahoo Asnwers.

Go find a vet. Your dog probably needs one.

Her temp.will drop, she will nest-paw at blankets, she may shiver or pant, she may pace or moan. All dogs are different, and some show no signs at all. Before breeding it is best to read ALOT of info on whelping. Your vet can also give you good advice.

a dog will usually start to run around look for a spott. then she will begin to dig into whatever spott she chooses, she will try to prepare it. if you look closley enough to the dog you will be able tell everytime the dog has a conrtaction. she will look like she is squeezing. the dog may also cry alittle.

She'll need some "privacy". Literally like a closet or somewhere private. (put down some towels) It's amazing though-- she'll know just what to do. It's a little gross/ amazing to some people what happens when they are being born. Give her some space and let her do her thing. :o)

She might start squating, whining, panting, digging up her bedding, and her water should brake, so it will look like she peed everywhere.
hope this helps
