Like if you cannot be together at the moment is it possible that you can reconnect in life once you both are more established and grow some?

By the way I'm 22 and my ex is 24 and I just decided recently that it would be best to end the relationship for now.

My cousin and her husband dated when we were like 14 and then broke up and got back together 4 or 5 years later. It happens, but it's rare I think.

Hi Amy,

Sometimes that is the best way. By having a break you can reflect on each other as well as give yourselves some space. Especially if there are some misunderstandings taking place. This is great to see how much you value each other and also allows you to wait and see what you both will get up to.

I was with a girl for a long time before we separated and got back together again. If it is meant to be than nothing will stop you from re-uniting and if not than nothing will be able to keep you together.

All the best love

Yes, he was my boyfriend at High School for a while, we broke up and met up nearly 5 years later and started seeing each other again. Big mistake. Nobody is the same person they were 5 years ago, no relationship is the same 5 years ago. There is a chance you may be able to reconnect but just be aware there is a big chance you may not too! Good luck.

Yes, I did, twice. The first time, I should have never gotten back together with that person - biggest mistake of my life. The second time, we parted for a few months (did some major growing up - both of us), got back together and eventually married. The break was good for us because it made us appreciate the other more.

Yes...in fact it may be the best thing. I'm in a relationship like that now, we were actually first loves, when I was 15 and he was 16. Now I'm 24, he's 25--and we're doing great :) Hope this helps..and I wish you guys luck :)
