Since you have asthma, it's important to ask your doctor what your physical limitations are. You said you can't "run" but can you walk on a treadmill getting your heart rate between 60-80% target rate? This is a comfortable pace where you can talk without getting winded. The goal is fat loss, and walking is one of the best ways, if the the best way, to lose belly fat! So I encourage you to get medical clearance which as a Nurse, I think it will be okay so long as you are a controlled asthmatic. Also, its a good idea to take your nebulizer with you for safety sake.
Losing 30 pounds may sound hard, but with consistency you can do it! All you have to do is eat healthy and watch how many calories you eat, drink 8-10 glasses of water a day, and walk 4-5 times a week outside or on a treadmill. Other things you can do is find a weight loss supplement at a health food store that is not contraindicated with your asthma meds or any others you may be taking. Also, be sure its not contraindicated in your condtion as well. If you really want to drop 1-2 dress sizes in two weeks, I encourage you to get a book called, "The Fat Flush" written by a Nutritionist. It's at Walmart. It's very strict, but extremely healthy. The food is nothing white...no white rice, sugar, flour, proccessed foods, etc. It's a little expensive cause you gotta buy the supplements and take them religiously as well as eat clean calories. Its a diet designed to cleanse the liver and trust me, it works!!!! I had to lose more than 25 pounds a few years ago and it was safe for me to stay on this diet for 30 days because of that, instead of the usual 2 weeks. I lost an amazing 24 pounds in a month! And I never felt better! My skin was glowing and I was energetic and I am a nurse working 12 hour shifts. I started out on the treadmill at 30 minutes the first few weeks then gradually increased my time to a full hour and did this 4 days a week. The fat just melted off! After a month, I started weight training and added healthy carbs she suggested. More fat started burning off and before I knew it, people were complimenting me. Even one guy said, "You look hot!" (ha ha). I had to buy new clothes and in only 5 months I dropped from a size 18 to a size 7/8 with some sizes at a 10!!! My kids said, Wow Mom, you look great! I looked great and felt great.
So, just cause you have asthma doesn't mean you can't work out within doctors orders. Weight training is good for women and men because it tones muscles and muscles burn more calories, so weight loss occurs. It will help you lose the belly fat as well as walking on a treadmill.
Good luck!

yes crunches can be good and you dont have to exert yourself too much with them. Basically keep all of your attention and focus on your mid section, do it slow and controlled and that should help.
As others also said, change diet.

These can be done at home without any equipment and, best of all, you should see results within 1-2 weeks. Good luck!
