Stomach Ache? Well, do you mean a stomach soreness or a stomach cramp? Usually when running alot of people experiance stomach cramps, especially when out of shape. This does not mean you should stop, don't ever give in, instead you should slow down and keep a steady walk. Keeping some water by your side will at first jump around a bit but it does help, ALOT. If you are getting actual stomach soreness, this may if you are working out your stomach muscles alot.. maybe if you are doing push-ups, yoga, and most definatly crunches. If you are experiancing actual stomach pains other than a "stitch in the side" cramp, then this can be a sign of something more than just a pain. Do make sure you wait atleast 30 minutes after eating a meal before you begin strenous exercize, this may cause pains as well.

The majority of the time side aches are caused by the muscles being unaccoustomed to working so hard and they cramp due to inadequate oxygen. When this happens, slow down, take some slow deep breaths, but do not stop. Keep moving and the cramp will subside. To help from getting these cramps, make sure that you don't eat or drink anything heavy before you exercise, make sure you are well hydrated and work up to sustained levels of exercise slowly.

Hmm, maybe you haven't fully digested the food you had before exercising. Make sure you don't exercise within a 1 hr-1 1/2 hr range of having a food intake. This may cause bad cramps or in your case, a stomach ache. You're also exercising your "abs" in some exercise routines. Also, a trick to preventing cramps..
Breathe in through your nose, out through your mouth.
Hope this helps!

You should not have a stomach ache. You are pulling something that is not suppose to be pulled. Ease up or do another type of exercise. If this is not at school, how about dancing to music. Buy one of the new DVDs and dance along with the class. Or get the new boxing DVD and do the moves.

while exercising, unless you are actually working out that general area(ec. crunches, bicycals, sit ups), then you shouldn't feel stomach pain. Try not to eat at least 2 hours before, drink loads of water, and try different breathing methods. If its a stitch, like an intense sharp pain in the side, then continue working out, usually its just a minor cramp that needs kneading out. also, it could be all the lactic acid that your body produces. make sure you exercise one hard day then do a recovery day. and I don't mean sit and relax. I mean do a lighter exercise. If you can hold a conversation while working out, that's your recovery day. Eventually, your cramps should ease up and disappear. If not, consult a doctor.

Don't eat too much or drink too much water. It will all just sit there.
Your body can either run the fight/flight or the parasympathetic system. Fight or flight is seen by a increased heart rate, increased perspiration (the same things that occur while exercising!), while the parasympathetic runs digestion.
So if you eat or drink a whole lot, keep in mind your body can only do one.

Reason one: if you are doing stomach crunches, the muscles in the stomach area hold alot of toxins, and they are released when you work on that area.
Reason two: Your are working yourself WAY to hard and not drinking enough water while working out.
