self injury or injury potential for others is the best reason to return to custodial care. the wrong reason would be to hide from reality instead of dealing with it.

When you are asking yourself Do I Really Need to Go Back...that's normally a good sign that things aren't right. I'd ask someone very close who sees you alot to give you feed back...if you have been doing something you don't notice....or if it's all inside you and no one could know type thing...being suicidal or hurting yourself in a way that know one else would know...if you cut your inside thigh only someone like your husband or wife would know...and sometimes it can be well hiden from them so...
You can always go see a theripist and get a professianal opinion...most of the time the answer is the same as the close friend or wife/husbands answer would be. The people around you notice more than you think. If you even have to ask that question a BIG RED FLAG should go up.

It is time to go back to a mental hospital when you cannot keep yourself safe at home. If you are suicidal or planning to hurt someone else, the hospital is the place for you.

A wrong reason to go back would be not wanting to take responsibility for your own health, liking it in the hospital, wanting to be taken care of, getting lots of attention by being in the hospital and you don't know how to get it in healthy ways.

hurting yourself or putting yourself or others in danger and also not being able to take care of the simplest things in life. Sometimes people need that break on the ward even though it might not seem like a break. I went 4 times last year and I needed it almost every single time. I was using pills and drinking and really got into the cutting where I couldnt stop sometimes. So keep in contact with your doc they can also help you break things down when you are unable to see things through stress.
