There are over 50 countries around the world that are persecuting Christians for their faith. Many of these countires are Muslim, and Communist Countries. Our Brothers and Sisters are imprisoned, fined, tortured and yes, even killed for proclaiming the life changing soul winning Gospel of Jesus Christ; yet they do so gladly. Do you think we could do more, here in America, where we have the (limited) freedom to express our Christian points of view? What are we scared of? Would you be bold for Christ if faced with these same penalties; even death? I have seen many Christians fold under the pressures of Atheist and non-believer mockery here on R & S; I am not a fundie, but a sincere Christian, so...what do you think, can we live the faith we profess? Can we love, unconditionaly, as Christ loved unconditionaly? God bless. Chris

wonderfully put, our preacher has been convicting us about this very same issue, I do think as American Christians we are comfy in the fact that we can worship as we want to, but we are standing still in our faith. our preachers said just last week that we are "here" in our faith and God wants us "there" meaning we are standing in our comfort zones.and need to go farther in our walk as Christians. I also would like to be "bolder" in my faith and have been convicted lately to try and do a better job of doing just that. I am also just a humble, sincere Christian. TY for your question.
God bless

Your point is well taken and it's not beyond reason that we in America will not suffer in the foreseeable future. America has been distancing itself from God ever since the early 60's. Would Christians stand up to persecution? Some would be strengthened and yes stand up more would fall away and go with the crowds. Look at what happens when someone that claims to be a Christian is faced with sharing their faith or around others that are non-Christians at work. They often do as Peter did and deny Christ in our actions and words. Remember that Christians can share their faith or show their faith in many ways. The Holy Spirit that is inside of each real Christian enables the Christian to share Christ and to live according to God's will. We can suppress the Spirit's power by the sin we allow in our bodies and lives but to deny Christ I can't see that. I do though think you have a good point. Many Christians don't think about the struggling Christians in other countries and we sure don't defend our faith as the muslims defend their faith.

Any American Christian who complains about being "persecuted" is just a whiner.

There simply is no persecution of christians here in the United States. On the contrary, the CHRISTIANS are the ones trying to persecute others, then complaining that they're so persecuted because they don't have absolute power.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in the world, christians are being imprisoned, tortured, even MURDERED for their beliefs. The whining theocratic phonies in this country insult every victim of REAL persecution.

I think that we could to. I am a christian to there must be ways that we have not tried yet not that the old ones are bad. Gods love is so wonderful if people could just experience it people would not feel the same way. Lives would be changed homes would be put back to gather people would again learn to love one another more our country would be much stronger. Peace and God bless

Yes, people do make this sacrifice. I also would make that sacrifice. We are truly blessed, being able to spend our lives in the US. As the bible states this will happen all the way to The End of Times. Someone that lied about their beliefs would not make this sacrifice and would Denounce Christ. All of the 12 apostles made this sacrifice, they were all brutally tortured to death to denounce Christ by the Romans. By their sacrifice ,is why the Bible is Truly the Word of God.

From Christianity's beginnings, thousands of Christians have sufferred; many of them, according to Bibilical scripture, forfeiting their lives for their beliefs.

Yes, Americans could probably do more for those in other countries who are oppressed; but, most Americans won't even give $1 or $2 dollars to help those in need here. Citizens of other countries are no more "giving" than those in America.

People, wordwide, are concerned about their welfare; the welfare of their family; not the welfare of someone in Africa, India, Iraq, Iran, Korea, or some other far-off country.

The majority of American people don't really care about those who are homeless in their own city!

I agree with you. The West and USA have an easy time and display a 'soft' Christianity. Brother Yun in his autobiography "The Heavenly Man" was amazed by the disbelief and skepticism displayed by the West and USA to his experiences of persecution by the Chinese authorities. We are totally gullible in believing the Chinese government propaganda. His book was awarded the Christian Book of the Year in 2003.

We Christians in America have it so easy, compared to many other countries. It may not be like this for long, though. Yes, we need not to take this freedom for granted and get our eyes on Jesus and off all the material items.

Yes, we can learn to love God and be obedient to Him even if we were to suddenly be placed in a situation where being a Christian could mean death.

But, what often happens is that with the winnowing, many fall away, but those who remain faithful become stronger in their faith than ever before.

American Christians -
Do you know that Pagans around the world are persecuted daily? Do you know that it was a major struggle for the wife of Patrick Stewart, a serviceman who was killed in Iraq, to even get a tombstone from the Veteran's Administration with his emblem of faith on it? Do you realize that in many countries, Pagans and Wiccans are tortured and killed daily? Do you realize that Pagans are fighting alongside Christian brothers in the military, yet we have a president who would deny Wiccans their opportunity to practice their faith?

Do you believe in freedom of religion? We Pagans do, and we wouldn't deny you the opportunity to practice yours. We simply wish to be able to practice ours, in our home country, as you do. We wish for the opportunity for our brothers and sisters to practice their faith in their own countries; Christian and Pagan alike.

Why not, rather than worrying about Christians alone, seek a world where everyone can practice the religion they believe?

Just a thought.
