I'd love to watch that race. from a helicopter with binoc's that's as close as I'd want to be, because when that car hits turn 4 at Daytona, its going into the stands, the retaining wall that could stop it has yet to be built.

I see a major flaw in your plan. There is no talking NASCAR/Brian France/Mike Helton into doing ANYTHING that they don't want to do. NASCAR is not some democracy that is swayed by popular opinion. Another thing, just because the COT is not AS fast as the downforce car doesn't mean it isn't too fast to be extremely unsafe for both the drivers and the fans. If you get the COT turned around backwards, doing 200+ mph, it is going to take off like an airplane because of the rear wing and potentially hurt some people.

Hey you must be into a lot of fans getting injured...without the restrictor plates or until Nascar figures out something else out with these 2 super speedways, these cars will be going over 215 mph what is going to keep them on the ground..okay test a couple without the plates....but no way will nascar allow these cars without the plate...I'm not into fans or drivers being killed..maybe some morbid fans are...I'm not.....Yes there needs to be more testing done and something figured out before we turn these cars into flying torpedo's.

One of the considerations with the COT was that you could manipulate the wing, wicker and splitter enough to add drag to the car and remove the restrictor plates. Whether NASCAR feels comfortable enough has yet to be seen.

Keep in mind the restrictor plate wasn't added in NASCAR for the driver's protection. It was added to slow down the cars to lessen the potential of a car flying into the stands. (Read: lawsuits.)

Well i think stock car racing should be stock car racing. Stop trying to make every car the same. If one car is faster than another, then the others should try to get better but dont make it mandatory for all cars to slow down just so all cars will be created equal. Isnt that what racing used to be? One car trying to beat the other, no matter what they had to do. I guess i'm just old and thinking how this whole race thing used to be back in the olden days on dirt tracks.

The only way you're going to allow the cars to safely run fast is to bulldoze one of the turns at Talladega and Daytona. Flatten out the angle of one of the turns about 15 degrees and it'll cause the drivers to have to use the brakes. It would of course, change the entire dynamics of both tracks.....but I'm not crazy about the restrictor plate situation we have today.

With out the plate they would be over 215 at Talledega and there would not be a catch fence strong enough to catch them if they got airborne. Side by side the COT is probably slower if they could run unrestricted but still would be too fast to run safely. Sure would be fun to watch tho.

Faster doesn't make a better race, but making the cars able to catch each other and pass would. I would suggest a smaller engine, perhaps even a six cylinder, for the superspeedway races and get rid of the plates.

First off, your going to lose the lower seats, as you will not want fans near the fence (Lots of lost seats and revenue). Bobby Allison could have lost his life because of going into the fence at over 200 mph. I'm happy no fans were killed.

How many drivers/fans would you like to see killed going unrestricted? Also, at around 240/250, drivers can black out due to G-forces.

I'm not crazy about restrictor plates, but I'd rather deal with the lives saved.
