I am suffering from a chronic gastritis may be more than 3 years. I have chest pain even during simple worry, slight tension, during presentation, during watching terror movies and even on some general things though there is nothing to worry. I want to control myself but I cant. This seems like a generalized anxiety disorder. Is there any effective way to manage this? Is generalized anxiety disorder and chronic gastritis (peptic disorder) related to each other?

From what I understand, you produce more acid when you're anxious, so it does sound like it goes hand in hand.

There is a great book by Dale Carnegie called "How to Stop Worrying and Start Living". Its in paperback and it can give you a fighting chance without medicine. Get off all caffeine. Its hard but it will make a difference. You can't worry if you are doing somthing physical. Even if you hate doing the physical thing it beats the suffering of worry while you are idle.

See anxiety treatments, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris on page 6, and social anxiety, on page 9. Reduce salt intake: use more spicy, hot, and sweet/sour dishes to compensate. Adopt an alkaline diet: see www.mercola.com Avoid such movies.

I think it can, you stress out and you can give yourself ulsers, heart attacks, all sorts of lovely stuff.

I would see if you can get on some medication, i have anxiety and it was a longgg time ago that a doctor prescribed me something and i cant remember the name of it, but it helped me out. Talk to your doctor about it hun good luck :)

You should have yourself evaluated by a psychiatrist or a psychologist. If you do have an anxiety disorder, there are treatments available.
