1) that depends on the president. if you want to take the ''no true christian'' road, no, probably not. but just because someone is christian doesn't mean he's perfect, nor does it necessarily mean that he's even any more moral than anyone else. that's why we need a Savior in the first place.

2) yes, i think bush is christian. a lot of these politicians right now, i think it's very possible that they could be claiming christian to get votes. i can't remember any other time so many politicians made a point of saying ''i'm christian.''

3) this is easier to answer than the first. christianity does not allow the torture of human beings. without looking, i'm almost sure some antagonist has put up something from the old testament, but as christians, we're not under mosaic law, so that's not the greatest of arguments.

thanks for the Q. have a good one.

A Christian President could order torture. Constantine ordered killing and apparently torture and no one questions his status as a Christian!

It has to do with trusting God, but the flesh is weak. God knows we are sinners, and real Christians will admit this (1 John 1) .

So don't look for a sinless person when you want to know a Christian answer. Look to those who know they are sinners, not the one's who try to act righteous.

Many christians have been led to do things of an unchristian nature simply by having what they considered good intentions.Claiming Christianity and truly living the life or "walking the walk" of a Christian are two very different, and yet barely distinguishable at times, things.

Guessing you saw "The Daily Show" yesterday?

The Bible talks a lot about killing and stoning people who believe differently from you. You can pretty much justify any horror you like with that crazy book. Slavery? You bet ya!
Genocide? You know it! Homophobia? Most definetly!
And every other crime that fits under the terror tree.
