Heres the story, saturday I wrestle around with a friend, and he ends up sitting on my chest for a bit. Also in this day, a pigeon poops on me, but I wipe it off and all that. Sunday I woke up with minor chest pains and it hurt in my chest to swallow food, and had that all day. Monday I had the swallowing thing, and a little headache and fever. After monday the swallowing was fine again. I went to the ER actually monday night, after reading about diseases bird poo carries. Doc did a chest X ray, and said I have Pharyngitis. I got Erythromycin from him. Haven't had the headache and fever since. Now tonight is Thursday night, and I am having a little more chest pain. It is simple to swallow, but it feels like, I guess you could say ''cold'' in my chest when I breathe in deep, or if I cough. Also it hurts when I will use my arms to push myself up out of a chair. Is this something that was caused by the wrestling with the kid, or did the pigeon poop have something to do with it?

Also when I am sitting around it is a dull ache. And another note. I am a hypochondriac so I worry a lot. I have heard of all kinds of fungal diseases like cryptococcosis, associated with pigeon dung, and I keep thinking thats what it is, even though doctors said no. I hate pigeons....

Neither. You have a bronchial infection and you better be extremely watchful that it does NOT turn into pneumonia and then you could die.

Go back to the doctor by....Saturday (even ER, it doesnt matter) if the pain persists or the "fullness" and pressure gets worse (or even stays the same). Insist on a lung xray and even a cat scan.

The pigeon poop has nothing to do with it, just to make that clear. The only way it could have anything to do with it is if you pretty much ate the pigeon poop. The wrestling plus the changing of the seasons probably caused it. Most people are more likely to feel bad or get sick when the weather changes, and having someone sit on your chest can't help anything either. Just go back to the doctor if you still feel worried about it, and do what the doc says. Stop worrying, it's going to be okay :]

This is a question best left to the professionals. For the record, my knowledge of parasites in bird poop tells me that there is a 3-5 day incubation period before the symptoms show up (and thats from personal experience).

Maybe you should go to another doctor and show him the x-ray, some doctors may not see what some others would. I think you know your body better than anyone else, and I think you should be careful, because you may have a cracked rib or something and a cracked rib is not easy to detect.
Good Luck

It sounds like you may have developed bronchitis which can lead to pneumonia so although it does hurt you need to take deep breaths because the shallow short breaths don't get the air moving in your lungs and lets the mucus or fluid sit there. I also think you may want to consider just going to an ER because if you have Pneumonia it is very serious and people have died from it.

Dude chill out the bird **** has nothing to do with it. You might have broken a rib or something but nothing more. Give it a couple days and if it doesn't get better go back to the doctor.

Call the doctor who treated you at the ER the other day and ask the doctor this question.

Forget the pigeon poop! This sounds like pleurisy. (Look it up). It's painful, but not serious. It'll pass.

I believe that perhaps you are having some kind of stomach acid issue.... OR you could have exercise induced asthma.... ( which is often a side effect of aspirated stomach acid)...i regularly get what you are describing and i was diagnoised with excess stomach acid.

I'm thinking maybe it's a pulled or bruised muscle more than anything else. Hope you feel better soon!
