I want to make the room look bigger, but it is difficult in a tiny room with slanting ceilings. I have a wardrobe, bed, dresser, and, night stand, and book shelf. Do you have any other decorating ideas to make the room seem bigger without loosing the furniture?

thanks for the answer so far. Let me describe my room. It's in the corner of the attic (which 2 of my sisters have rooms in too) probably about 10' x 10' and I don't have a window in my part. The ceiling starts sloping at about 3 feet up and there is hardly any ceilings.

1] first, get bedding in a color you really like - buy thrwo pillows at same time
2] pick the color you like best in the print [ a light, bright one - like pink, peach, banana, mint, sky blue, lavender ] to paint the walls
3] if you have any 'flat' walls, paint a window frame with an outdoor scene on it [ or use a real old window frame ]
4] make the floor all one light color [ lt beige, or light gray ]
5] frame all art work in similar colors and materials - oak/walnut, brass/chrome, colored enamel
6] use the bedding colors again for accessories - lamps, vases, ornaments, flowerpots [ fake since no window ],
candles and holders

I would paint the walls a creamy medium yellow - and then paint the sloped ceiling a little darker, like a taupe. Contrary to popular belief, dark colors work great in a small room because they make the walls appear to recede.

white. and paint your furnishings and your sisters furnishings white - it will look so crisp and clean - add new bed covers and pillows and drapes on the windows near their area in your favorite color but in gingham check - such as a hot pink or a minty green - so, so cute - but fresh and gorgeous

all go and buy a cheap canvas each from the store (thrift and discount stores even walmart have cheap ones) and each paint a painting in pretty bright colors for your new room. The room will be fresh and lifted and look awesome. get paint colors that match your new room and have a rule - each girl paint the background of their canvas white - each girl only to use the colors in the room - eg. pink / green / lavendar to do their painting - or pick a similar topic to paint - flower - clothing item - pet - themself portrait - or each paint one of the other of you!

small rooms needs , bright ceilings, and walls,
maybe i would suggest , an off white, on two walls, and a nice yellow on the other two,
use white o n the ceiling , to reflect as much light as possible .
if you place a mirror , o n the wall opp site, the window this will help reflect light

DUH..
The best color ever created, orange.

Maybe to make it bigger... you could make a trap door, AND you only know where it is, so here's a perk.
You could look at porno, without ever being cought.
