Look at the bright side! After you louse your privelage you then become a part of the Yahoo staff. Then you are allowed too screw with the heads of thousands of people on your own free time. Snuff out all of those KY jelly experts etc.etc.etc.

I don't think there's any rhyme or reason to it. I've lost accounts with as few as 5 violations, while another of mine has garnered over 100. I no longer use it, but the account is still active. This particular account has over 40. One user here lost her account without ever receiving a VN. It was just *gone.*
It may have something to do with the nature of the violation, or the number of people to report a particular question or answer. I wish I could be more helpful, but I've always wondered this myself.

I don't think it's the # of violations. I lost my account about 6 months ago (maybe longer) and only had 2 violations.

As mentioned there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. I have had 20-25 violations and many questions removed. I know of at least 1 user who has accounts deleted within 12 hours, even if they have not asked or answered any questions yet.

It's too hard too tell since the P&P (policy & procedure...ie "community guidelines") is intentionally vague in order to allow for "flexibility".
Been there...had that done to me. You know how many "violations" I've had for "Yaks(pbuh)"?? Come now!
Usually, violation notification comes on the heels of hate and death-threat e-mails (I have quite a collection going).
Some people just seem to LOVE clicking on "report it" without READING within the context of the question and/or answer. sigh.
I made the personal commitment to avoid (as much as reasonably possible) the use of "report" in hopes that OTHERS would try to act in a responsible, mature and adult manner.
Mostly they do...after all the kiddies have gone to bed.
Yaks(pbuh)
ps: I went ahead and reported this "question"
pps: You KNOW the ps was just a joke, right?
ppps: You have a great nite!

I once had a level 3 (just a bit shy of level 4) account deleted before I even received my 2nd violation notice.

I don't know. I've received a couple dozen violations over the past 6 months. And I've never had my account suspended or removed. But, hey, the night is young...

I think it depends on the moderator. I have lost accounts without any violations.

I have had at least 15 questions pulled and about 50 violations I would guess.
