I am taking new medications where possible serious side effects are of many, impulsive feelings. What are impulsive feelings? Can someone explain? How to watch out for this? Give me examples of impulsive feelings? Is it kind of like mania?

Thanks!

Can you have impulsive feelings(if the first poster is right) about doing something GOOD or is it always a bad thing?

Absolutely, it can be good! But they don't always make a lot of sense when involved with a disorder (like Bipolar). However, I'm not sure if this is the same with it just being a side-effect. Either way, there are good, bad, and completely harmless impulses. It's just important that you know this side-effect and recognize it when you suddenly feel like piercing your eyebrow out of nowhere. You won't die from an eyebrow piercing, but later you'll be like...what??...and impulses can tend towards being quite a waste of money! As long as you don't get impulses to sell your house and children to the first person that offers, I think you'll be just fine. Like I said, just watch for the impulses involving money-spending. That can get you into some trouble.

If you are impulsive, you do things without considering the consequences. You have a thought or idea and you immediately act on it rather than rationally deciding whether that is a good idea or not. Manic people are often impulsive, but not all impulsive people are manic. Impulsivity is a classic symptom of ADHD as well. How to watch out for this? If you start getting yourself in trouble with ill considered actions, you might be impulsive.

Impulsive feelings are when you get a sudden strong urge to do something random.

It's when you get a random thought out of nowhere. It isn't always bad. When it's good, it's known as creativity.
