I know some people believe we should baptize in Jesus' name alone. That baptizing in the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost is wrong. What about Matthew 28:19? Didn't Jesus Himself teach to baptize in all 3?
Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Southern Apostolic - nice way to twist it. Frankly I think if Jesus told us to do it that way then it is good enough for me. It says baptize in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Not one name that means all three. And Jesus does not mean all three. He is one part of the trinity.

Man on a Mission... - It was the response to your question that made me ask this. I think they misinterpret it as well.

People who baptize in Jesus' name alone ignore the Great Commission of Matthew 28:19. They don't realize that we must take the Bible as a whole and not pick and choose which verses to believe in and which to ignore.

The Holy Trinity is equal
and Jesus Christ said in Mt 28:19
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
That is the right way but if not complete like what happened in
Act 8:16-17
"because the Holy Spirit had not yet come upon any of them; they had simply been baptized into
the name of the Lord Jesus".
i think that equal the Trinity.
and they need more the (placed their hands) or now the (holy charisma).
"Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit".

Jesus did say in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Peter said: In the name of Jesus Christ. I have always baptize in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. But I don't have a problem with others being baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Let's not get so pickie. Lets just all get saved and get baptized. Then wouldn't that be GREAT!

The name of the father is Jesus. The name of the son is Jesus. The name of the Holy Ghost is Jesus. That's why he said baptize in the (name) of the father, son, and the Holy Ghost, not tin he names. Read the New Testament and see if you can find one time where someone was baptized in any way besides in the name of Jesus. The Bible says, whatsoever ye do, in word or deed, do in the name of Jesus.

The phrase "in the name" means "by the authority" or "according to the instructions". To be baptized "in the name of Jesus Christ" means you are baptized according to His instructions (authority).
Jesus, the Father, and the Holy Spirit are all in one accord when it comes to the things they commanded and instructed. If, therefore, you are baptized according to the instructions of Jesus, then you are also obeying all Three because they all authorized the same thing! "There is... One baptism"! (Ephesians 4:4-5)
Being baptized "in the name of Jesus" or "in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Ghost" is more than just saying their name(s)! It is doing what they said to do, in the way they said to do it! When you submit to he name (authority or instructions) of one, you are following all three, because they have instructed the same thing!

As you pointed out the Bible specifically says to baptize in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Some may pick and choose what they will obey and follow, but I have chosen to follow and obey all the Bible.

Jesus said baptize in the NAME, not titles. The name of the Father is Jesus, The name of the Son is Jesus, The name of the Holy Ghost is Jesus. Baptizing in the Name of Jesus fulfills the commandment of Matt 28:19

How many times did the apostles baptize in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost? None...How many times did they baptize in the name of the Lord Jesus..using his name? Every time....Don't you think the apostles who were there,,,know what Jesus meant? OR do you think they just ignored what Jesus said to them and did it their own way? Who would know better than the apostles, what Jesus meant? And notice it says, "in the name"....not names....it is singular....in the name of........"No name given under the sun, whereby we must be saved" What name is that? Jesus.

Baptizing in the name of Father, Son, & Holy Spirit can't be wrong as Jesus himself said to do it..
But I realize that the Apostles baptized in the name of Jesus, so if you want Do both if it makes you happy.

Edge, someone just mentioned this in a question I had asked(not sure if you saw this there) but they mentioned Acts 2:38 which says "Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."
But it doesn't say ONLY in the name of Jesus Christ....and I think they're reading it wrong. And notice....Jesus didn't say to be baptized in (only) Jesus' name...Peter said that.
