Is there anyway the Army/military can do an extensive background check and let me join?

I know it's mandatory to have a green card to join, but if there's any exception to that, please let me know, thanks

NO exceptions are made. If you are not, at minimum, a Legal Permanent Resident, you will not be allowed to enlist.

First of all, thanks for wanting to join the service!! I would suggest a visit to your local recruiter and go over what you need/have with them. There is, in the military what is known as a "waiver" would you qualify, I do not know, but it does no damage to try! The military has exemptions for just about everything... Trust me I was a recruiter for awhile! Good luck (check the USMC) Semper Fi! P.S if you want an "extensive" search of your background bring all the documentation you have, school records, birth certificate, diplomas etc.. trust me it helps! also be looking good, hair cut, dressed well, present yourself as someone who would be PROUD to be in the service. remember, first impressions are lasting. Make your problem, their problem, it works.

There is no way to get around the green card requirement.. BUT if you talk to a recruiter who is motivated enough.. they WILL help you get through the process and even drive you places if you need it to get this done... they gotta meet their quota you know ( wink wink)

Talk to a recruiter and see how they can help you out. If your really set on joining then they will usually do what they can to help you out.

You should go in person to Immigration and inquire as to the steps needed to serve...They will be sure to get you started and help you on your way.
