there is a game that i like to play though a telnet connection and was wondering how to create a script that will allow me to skip some typing commands. any suggestions?

That depends on the program that you are using. WIth standard telnet you can automate some of the logging in by putting the answers to the prompts into a file and feeding it to the program when you start it.

With some telnet programs you need another program called a macro scripting software.

Or there are telnet client programs that will let you create short-commands or buttons for a list of actions. Great for traveling to the favorite kill spot, or rushing into a room and doing 5 actions faster than you can type.
NetTerm is nicely generic. Or ZMud is specific to MUD games.

You might do best by asking on the game itself to see what others are using. Or maybe the game has a forum you can ask in.
