I see it this way.
We never live in the present.
We see the future which will become the present, but before we can blink it's already the past.
It really depends on what you consider the past.
Do you consider it anything over a week, a month, even a year past. Or do you consider it the time you read, "This", everything in quotations. Also what do you consider the future? The same for the present, can you live in the present for a long time or a short time. When you watch movies to bring you to a different time, they would say a long time ago or use the subtitle "PRESENT" or "PRESENT DAY!"
So I think I in the Past.
HA.
All that for that little answer.
Sorry about that.
I ramble.

I have read the answers already posted. What a variety!
My answer comes from the Bible, because I agree with the Scripture which says:
"......forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind........"
Philippians 3:13-15
What this means to me is that I live in the present by remembering the lessons of the past, but not dwelling on the circumstances, while I look toward the future, attempting to do God's will and fulfill His purpose for my life.

This is the human nature that people always thinks that what he/she has missed or passed was the best and want to live on that but it is not possible. We are bound to live in the present. Yes, we can make a plan for the future but still can't live on future. We have to accept the present and live on it.

Sometimes, when I need a good boost in mood or a reminder not to make the same mistake twice, I like to take a trip or two down memory lane.
When I need a drive to do better, I wander off to the future.
But more often than not, the Present. It's the only thing I have that is most certain.

I remember the past, but live in the present, thinking some about the future.

When One lives in the Past, it's because there is NO NOW worth thinking about. Get a life; change your way of doing things, & start to live. One cannot change what is already said or done, but can profit from his mistakes, for a Happier NOW.
