It NEVER needs replacement.....

The reason why is when you Replace it, you are also Replacing the LCD PANEL....

And those actually cost the same as a New One...

These backlight panels are INTEGRATED into the panel, they are not a separate part.

LCD backlights for HDTVs are supposed to last for the life of the TV. They are usually rated 50,000 - 60,000 hours for half brightness. Most likely other electronics in the TV will fail before the backlight.

Change it whenever it burns out. Look in the back of the TV. If there is a place for the LCD Backlight to be changed, change it. But read the manual first!!! I assume ur notgoing to read the manual, but U really should read it, it has all of ur answers there

No, you have to buy a new monitor. Mine did that after only over a year. I was so mad. I spent alot of money on that monitor and I was told by several places I contacted that "LCD monitors are so cheap now adays, it's more cost effective to buy a new one that fix the old one". So I had to get a new one, which I must say was about 200.00 cheaper than the other one.
