" The National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC) is calling on the CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) to just say "no" on June 29 to recommending "universal use" of Merck's Gardasil vaccine in all pre-adolescent girls. NVIC maintains that Merck's clinical trials did not prove the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine designed to prevent cervical cancer and genital warts is safe to give to young girls"

I was in this section last year stating these things but all I did was get a bunch of people attacking me, saying I was looney and lo and behold my word was true all along. lol.

What are your thoughts on this? Have you gotten the vaccination or has your child? My doc tried to get me to take it but I refused. Good thing I did that...

I also was suspicious of the vaccine, and chose not to give it to my daughter. I am glad that nobody tried to make it a mandatory vaccine. Drug companies will come up with anything to get more money, and our reps are working for them. It's up to us to decide what is best for our children, and ourselves. We can't rely on Doctors to give us the best treatment anymore, without researching it first.

Good thing you refused too.

Generally, the vaccination is only given to women under 26 and, if between 18 and 26, a med history with your doctor is recommended. This is because the chances of sexually active women being exposed to the types of HPV the vaccine prevents increases with activity and age.

Luckily, my Pap test detected severe dysplasia before it advanced to cancer. Even then, I spent six months dealing with the problem and eventually had my cervix removed. I wouldn't want anyone I loved to go through this or worse and if there's a vaccine that could prevent it, I'm all for it.

Adverse reactions can come with any vaccinations. But what's worse: vaccinating against a known killer or taking your chances? That's a personal decision and one I believe each person must make on there own.

Oh yeah, good thing. Because not one immunized teen has had any problem related to the vaccine. This warning is simply to get Merck to make certain there is no danger to teens or young girls. Your high horse is certainly growing quickly, much like cervical cancer does in those who become afflicted.

So many medicines coming out these days seem so fake. I really don't trust most of them at all. Most of them don't even sound natural. I prefer to be treated with natural things to cure whatever sickness I have. If I have to drink water and anything high in vitamin C to cure my runny nose, then so be it. I'd rather do that than have some pill that says will cure my sickness and then it doesn't.

I've never had the vaccine and my child is a son. But I understand how you feel. You have insight and I would never make fun of someone with your gifts. You must remember that there are those that wouldn't believe sh** stinks, even if the turd is stuck up their nose.

I think it could be bad that they're giving it to all these 12 or 13 year old girls, if they don't explain it properly. For example, when a little 12 year old girl hears "you cant get HPV if you get this needle", she thinks she's protected from all STDs, and gets AIDS.

And I had heard that it wasn't completely tested yet... :S

My kids have the usual shots my little girl is going to be two in December I already feel iffy about the other ones I don't think I'll authorize her for this one. Things like this need plenty years of watch. just like contraceptives.

I just pray for her purity till marriage. It will be between her and God Later but while she is under my roof.......

Blah blah blah...that's nonsense.
Give your kids up to 75% protection from a certain type of cancer, or obsess over what *might*, under very special circumstances, in maybe one or two cases, happen as an indiosyncratic response?
I think I'll take the cancer protection for my children.
Good luck.
