Because the others have televangelists who do the same thing, but without stepping up to the plate about it.
The only other church that has the equivalent is the Catholic Church, because they have the Pope who claims additional guidance from God.
The other Church leaders just grab a verse out of context, mangle the interpretation horribly, and make new pronouncements under the disguise that they were in the Bible all along. Ever notice how they'll read one or two verses, and then prattle on about them for 20 minutes?
I prefer the honesty of the Catholics and Mormons.

The New Testament talks of prophets and prophesy. Many Christians, however, will still try to tell you that there were no prophets after Jesus. Why? Selective reading habits.
When the various groups of leader appointed by the Emperor met, they closed the canon of scripture, and essentially closed on-going revelation. If a prophet had arisen, he would have been executed.
Following the Reformation and the founding of the American Republic with religious freedom, Heavenly Father could once more pour down revelation through Prophets.

There are prophets in the Bible. Most Christians except these prophets. They don't accept modern prophets because they think anyone that comes along is a false prophet and they would rather debate interpretations of the Bible than follow a true and living prophet that takes the world out of darkness. Good Question

Part of our religion is that we believe in continued revelation for the church...and how does the Lord reveal his will? Through his prophets. As in days of old, he had prophets, preaching about the gospel. That is basically happening now. He reveals things to his prophets, they give us as members that information. I believe firmly that HE chooses his prophets, the leaders of the church. There is not vote or debate or "smoke" color... it is the Lord, he chooses who will do the best job.
After all the apostles of Jesus' died, there was no one to pass on the Priesthood or lead the church... there were good people though, throughout that time, but no one to lead. That is why, in 1830, Joseph Smith was called of God, to restore the gospel to the earth, to restore the true church to the earth: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Since then, the church has always had a prophet leading and guiding under the direction of Christ Himself, because it is His church.

Because, God will not call multiple prophets at a time. Although we can all receive personal revelation, only one person can have the authority to speak for God to the whole world.
I am not sure if this answers what you are asking. Does it answer your question?

um Catholics ,pope wake up
both books are imaginary
the bible was assembled by the catholic leader Constantine, who chose witch gospel accounts to put in it
and left many out over religious ideas at the time
I think the lost gospel accounts should be studied to better understand the bible that the catholic religion assembled
jubilee, about Jesus from birth to adult
gospel of Mary, one of his disciples ,left out because woman where inferior and you could not learn anything from them
the book of Adam and Eve,left out because of the incest marriage of Cain and his sister
also Gilgamesh=the older story of god and Adam&Eve up to and including the flood
(only difference is the serpent was changed to the devil, instead of being god)

You'll have to ask them -- but in my experience -- as people believe in revelation again they join our church.

Duh! because everyone believes that their religion is the true religion so by logic someone who is not a Mormon would not accept Mormon beliefs (or any other beliefs) unless they are trying to convert.
