Because that makes too much sense.

Pattern of the Prophets
In ancient days the Lord had prophets on the Earth to lead and teach the people. Moses, Noah, Isaiah, Peter, James, John, Paul, etc…So why doesn’t He today? Maybe God lost His power and He can’t talk to us? No that doesn’t make any sense – God still has all power. Maybe we are so technologically advanced that we don’t need Him anymore? That obviously is not true, we have more technology than ever before and yet we have very severe problems throughout the world. Maybe God doesn’t love us anymore? No that doesn’t make sense; of course God loves us still. The answer is that God does speak to us today through His living prophet- Gordon B. Hinckley – President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. God is a God of order, and He has restored His Church to the Earth in these latter-days. God does indeed speak to us today, but men need faith to hear. To learn more go to www.lds.org.

Jesus did not say something approximately Muhammad. The Spirit isn't synonymous with "prophet." you may't use the two titles interchangeably. John 14:sixteen - Jesus says he will deliver yet another Comforter. John 14:26 - Jesus identifies this Comforter as a results of fact the Holy Spirit, i.e., the 0.33 guy or woman of the Holy Trinity. it is evidenced in John 14:sixteen,18,20, & 26. All 3 persons of the Trinity are available in to the Christian Believer.

What he has already given needs to be studied and understood, What is 2520 years after Babylon, if we are 2007 AD or CE and what would be the need to know that?
No one is into the bible time, by this it it easy to see what is belief and what is not. Prophecy is giving a time line based on the highest known thing to make world history. Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Cyrus Isa. 44:28 [ 200 years before ]; Greece #5 as foretold by Daniel, Rome World Empire #6 and all this is no small matter for world history.

Well if you believe that a prophet is someone who ushers in the word of God to their time, place, and culture--a sort of translator of the Word and nature/being of God--then I would have to argue that there are prophets among us.
This definition fits the popular/celebrated prophets of biblical times, faith heroes of the past, and current people who help to push and expand our understanding of God.
But if you are asking why he does not send another Savior that is a different question and would require a different response.

How do you know that the prophets just have not been listened to? Jesus was and is and always will be the last major
"prophet", of course he is God. There are very, very wise people today who have written things and simply have not been heard, do we know whether or not they are/were prophets, no, but that doesn't mean they do not exist.

That question is answered in the Bible, Hebrews 1:1-4 says, "God, who at many times and in many ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, (2) has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, by whom also He made the worlds, (3) who being the shining splendor of His glory, and the express image of His essence, and upholding all things by the word of His power, through Himself cleansing of our sins, He sat down on the right of the Majesty on high, (4) being made so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they."

Ahhh...why do people always ask a question but never try to seek it out. I will tell you that to find modern day prophets, look for the believes that have never strayed away from God or his commandments.

Well it's possible he sent the last prophet because that's the last one he needed to send. That was Jesus Christ. Which I believe he will come again. Do you really feel we need another one.? Good Luck with your search

because the bible has already been written, everything that has happened or is going to happen has already been put in the bible, you just have to pick the bible up and read it! ( GOD has sure been doing pretty good for not have technology in the beginning ), but if you don't call making this world technology I guess your missing the boat!

Those who have eyes, let then see.
Oh, how He wish you would see who these eagles are. Believe me, there are more than you think existing now. Prophets today are not like the OT counterparts, but there are prophets today.
