What if there was a robbery near by and they needed to close down for security purposes? What if there was a drunk threatening someone in the store or something and they had to kick him out? What if there was a giant slurpee monster on the lose that wanted to steal the slurpee machine? It wouldn't be very smart to go out of the way not to have a lock on the store now would it?

Usually they work 2 people on first and second shifts, but on third shift only 1. The only time our store was allowed to be locked was when the person working third shift had to take a bathroom break or stock the cooler.

If there were an emergency and the one employee had to leave and there was no one to cover, you would like them to just leave the store unlocked, or no, maybe they could call a locksmith to install locks only when they need them, and remove them when they go back to 24/7/365? This is a silly question. Find a hobby.

They used to only be open from 7am-11pm, hence the name 7-11. Also, in case of a robbery, they are expected to shut down the store until police arrive, thus needing to lock the store down.

they lock you out if yer bein bad
or if the power goes out because when the power's out the tills don't work
and if they get robbed, they lock everyone out until the cops finish their "work" of gathering statements, descriptions, and reviewing the tape on site, they only take the tape if they can use it.
