I think they claim to be pagan for shock value. But, from what I have seen, they really don't know what they believe. It's just all about trying to be different and freak mainstream society out.

Goth is a fashion statement and philosophical outlook NOT a religion....

The "Goth" style has been around for almost 30 years with Stevie Nicks as a pioneer of the "Renaisannce Goth" style....

Goths can be Christian, Jewish, Atheist, Satanist or various varieties of Pagan including Wicca

Please do not generalize this way.

Ok, goths are not all wiccan. my friend is one and he is a practicing Catholic. Plus the comment made about the lady Isis was very insulting, just thought I would put that out there.

NO NO NO NO!

goths USUALLY do not practice wicca.wicca is not an "evil" religion.wicca was BASED off christianity.kinda ironic but still.

i know goths who are hardcore christians, who never cuss or ne thing, and i also know goths that are atheists usually, gnostics, and also wicca.but usually most if not all goths do not practice wicca.i know women that dress and act gangsta usually, and practice witchcraft, and are very serious about it,and everything about it.i also know ppl u would consider "prep" to some extent that practice it..soo..how you dress, and USUALLY how you act, does not affect the religion you practice, excluding certain other religions.and im not trying to offend any religion in this either,im stating fact.

Goth is indeed a style of dress, behavior, musical culture, social culture, but not a religious culture.

Of all the goth kids I've met and taught over the years, an overwhelming amount of them were Christians- church going and all.

gothic kids adhere to all different religions. You can't say that they all adhere to one.

"Gothic" does not bar an individual from any religion. Gothic usually describes their manner of clothing sometimes inspired by certain music.

Don't be so quick to judge.

Definitely not Wiccan.

I am sick and tired of the bad rep that some people give to Wiccans. They are really cool people and do good. They are some of the nicest people you would want to meet.

Although they use a lot of Catholic imagery, they do not conform to any religion.

"Goth" is a lifestyle, not a religion. Goths can be of any religious belief or lack of belief.
