I'm fourteen years old , but I'm only 4'11. Yeah, I know I'm short. My mom is 5'5, and my dad's 5'6 ( Yeah, I know, they're short too.) I know that height isn't exactly predictable, and that many factors can be involved in this situation, but I still want to know.

hey buddy, i kno a lot about height, i been to an endocrinologist (height doctor), because at the age of 18 i was 5'4..so the day i graduated from heighschool, i was 5'4, that summer i went form 5'4 - 5'7, then next summer 5'7-5'9 or so, then this past summer from 5'9 to bout 5'11.5 - 6....and the funy thing is im 20 and still growing, and my dad is bout 5'4 or so and mom is bout 5'6...but my dads dad was like 6'2, moms dad is 6'2 or so, my uncles r 6'1, and my dads uncles r 6'4 n like a lil more...so height DOES NOT always come from the parents...you usually resemble your grandparents height...
since ur a girl, 2 yrs after ur 1st period u will stop growing...if u want to grow, what has helped me and im still growing, is certain stretches, GLUTAMIINE increases HGH by 400%. HGH is human growth hormone which is what makes people tall during puberty, ppl get it naturally during puberty, but glutamine will increase HGH if taken, ONLY if your growth plates are open.. To find out if ur growth plates are open, u have to get an xray on ur wrist, or knees or fingers, to see. If they are u got growth left, and doctor can tell u how much..if they're open take HGH to increase your height...if not, u can increase ur spine by 2 inches through yoga or pilates..
i know alot about this from experience
REAL GROWTH hormone shots cost $2,000 a month
But glutamine however, increases NAturally, but the real shots from the doctor work aloot better..
arginine also increases hgh
milk makes u taller because it has igf-1 which is more potent then hgh, making you taller, it is increases hgh as well
if your plates are closed, taking HGH shots will only give u acromegaly, being your forehead grows, jaw grows, one finger out grows the other one (ex.pinky)..BUT glutamine will not do that to u, it is taken by bodybulders to help them recover from working out when their muscle tissues break down..u also need 1 gram of protein per body pound to get taller, and 9 hrs of sleep..because the most HGH is secreted during the 1st 2 hours of sleep...thats why ur taller in the morning, but temporarily..so sleep in a dark room, darker the more hgh produced...sleep with sox and gloves on, thats because ur hands n feet need to be same temperature b4 sleeping..thats why hot showers work...

anyways, hope i helped....and u got lots of time to grow
btw my growth plates are still open

Usually from parents. Your parents got those genes from their parents. If you're a 14 year old girl, you might grow some more. If you are a 15 year old guy, you will definitely get taller. Hang in there!

It will come directly from your parents, who got it from their parents. There are indeed many genes that affect height. Environment (nutrition, exposure to pollutants) can have a small effect as well. You probably won't end up taller than they are, unless they happen to have much taller relatives that you know about. My mother is 5'4' and her 1st husband is 5'6'. However, all the men in my mom's family are very tall, and he was the shortest in his family. My Brothers ended up 6'0' and 6'4', much taller than their fathers. My Dad comes from a family of very tall women (his mother and grandmother both over 6 feet), and I ended up 5'9' and my sister 5'4'. You can literally be all over the map when it comes to height. It's very hard to predict.
