Naproxen (Aleve, Anaprox, Naprosyn) is used to relieve pain and swelling (inflammation) from various conditions. It is used to treat headaches, muscle aches, backaches, tendonitis, dental pain, and menstrual cramps. It also reduces pain, swelling, and joint stiffness caused by arthritis, bursitis, and gout attacks. Reducing these symptoms helps you do more of your normal daily activities. This medication is known as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID).

Naproxen is an NSAID (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug). It is used to treat joint pain, arthritis and muscular pains. It does not contain aspirin. It is available over the counter along with acetaminophen (Tylenol) and aspirin. Some people are allergic to Naproxen and it can cause stomach problems such as bleeding.

It's an analgesic (pain reliever). It's the kind found under the brand name Aleve. It also has anti inflammatory properties, not unlike Ibuprofen (Advil) and Acetaminophen (Tylenol).

It's the more scientific name for Aleve. It's a pain reliever, anti-inflammatory over the counter and sometimes prescribed drug.

My Dr. gave it to me for Gout and back pain/arthritis. A kidney issue now prevents me from using this drug and it's lower dose equivalents like Motrin. or ibuprofen
