It is NOT equipment but technique (most of it in photoshop).

Good News: So you should be able to use any DSLR (or may be even consumer P&S)

Bad News: No camera will give that kind of result straignt out of the camera.

More Bad News: You will have to... LEARN some technique.

Sorry for the bad news.

Good Luck

No DSLR can produce images like those. Only the eye and mind of a great photographer can.

See those images? They weren't just captured - any camera from $50 to $5,000 can do that. These images were imagined, framed, cropped, modified and emphasized by the photographer.

A great camera doesn't make great pictures possible.
A great camera only makes great pictures easier.

You could make photos like that with a simple Nikon D40 or a Canon XT. There are also point & shoot cameras that could have captured the original pre-processed images that were the sources for what you found.

with the possible exception of the portrait of the girl, the rest of them have been screwed with either in a film developing process or in photoshop or another program.

The portrait could have been done with a fine grain film, like Ilford 50. The one with the girl and the car specifically says that it has been screwed with.
