Toyota does make a sports car. It's called the Solara. It's also the sport version of the Camry. Toyota will be coming out with more cars, though, in the very near future.

It's considered a sports car only because it can only seat two people. It is a turd though. It's slow and expensive to maintain and repair. Don't buy it.

sport is not under scion. scion is for the youth cars. it's meant for a culture, not for racing (thus their small engines).
sport cars don't make as much money anymore - there's only a small niche that buys that. most people either go towards luxury, family, SUV, or green.
You can always look at Lexus - their is250, is350, and soon their lf-a is coming soon (if you can afford a $100000+ price tag).
however with teh onset of nissan releasing their GTR, mitsubishi with their evo, subaru with their STi, mazda with their rx-8 (eh), toyota and honda will HAVE to release something comparable in that price range (30-50K)

I think that the "sport" label is being saved for their Scions. Although I do hope Toyota does produce something sporty whether it be under Toyota or Scion because the Tc is junk in my opinion.

They do! The Scion tC! They don't make the MR anymore.
I find it hard to believe the people can criticize the tC. I've driven several of them and they are amazing cars. They have a big 2.4L engine, a great interior and handling, and nice price. I drove one with the TRD supercharger as well...big fun! The only downside I see is the fuel economy, but I guess that's what you get with that big engine. (The Celicas had a 1.8L)

Demand, in the current market, sports car just isn't hot anymore nor sell so well. Consumers are prefering sedan with some thrill like wrx's and such. Ofcourse you can't forget the suv crowd, currently the biggest profit.
