The taser delivers 50,000 volts, but very little amperage. It causes musclular disruption, but does not effect any other organs or body functions. It basically causes your muscles to tense up, and prevents you from moving.
It also creates a very uncomfortable feeling. If you have ever struck your "funny bone", and had a tingling run up your arm, picture that over your entire body.
Electricity does not remain in the body, so other than the initial shock, there is no remaining effects other than the entry point of the two probes, which are about 1/2 inch long, but have a small barb, like a fish hook, to hold them in place. The older models may show a little contact burn, also. I have witnessed dozens of people tasered, and not one has complained of any pain from the probes.
There is not one case of anyone having died while being tased. Any deaths associtated with the taser come well after the effects are wore off, and are most commonly associated with drug overdose.

Electric shock is the ONLY effect of the Taser. The effects of an electric shock vary depending on many factors. The condition of the person shocked is the deciding factor. A healthy person will suffer no serious or lasting effects. Someone with a heart condition could die on the spot. In ANY case, the Taser is no more harmful that flying lead.

one of the effects of a taser gun is a prong being shot into your body i imagine this would cause alot of pain along with the shocking
