Every time I shave my legs break out. I use a razor with no scented moisture strip of anything, hypoallergenic shave cream and a hypoallergenic lotion. I use anti-iritation cream afterwards and I still break out. It started during the summer and it never happened before then. What's going on?? Does anybody know and if so... is there a way to prevent it in the future? I'd really like to have hairless legs that aren't red and bumpy.

Take it from a cyclist.. .and a male cyclist at that... that we men shavers have a similar issue. Honestly it may be your shaving process in general. First of all get a good blade, I swear by the mach 3. The more blades, the better, and honestly the less likely you are to cut yourself. Secondly...After you shave, wait for a while before you put any kind of lotion on. In fact, this lotion may be the irritant causing the rash. Get a quality white lotion (neutrogena, etc) with no scent, because often scented lotions also are cheaper, and have an alcohol component...which can strangely dry your skin... and you dont want that. Lastly, get a loofah, and make sure you exfoliate the bejesus out of your legs daily. And you can immediatly lotion after showers during which you don't shave.

This will take care of your spots. Promise. I used to get the worst rash on the insides of my thighs.

Best of luck.

This may be Exima. If the rash is extremely itchy it probably is Exima. I have it and I just use perscription ointments perscribed by a dermatologist (but regular doctors will perscribe them too) and after about 2 months of using it regularly where I have the rashes, it went away. Now I only have to use it every once in a while.

I would recommend going to a doctor or dermatologist to find out if you have exima. Put non-scented lotion (or even better a heavy cream) on your skin right after you shower. It helps a lot!

Are you sure it's a rash and not razor burn?
Razor burn doesn't nesscesarily hurt, But it's rash looking and bumpy. And looks horrible.
I would suggest shaving less often, And try a different razor.

But if it's not that, it may be an allergy to shampoos, shave creams, your lotion. Or maybe even laundry detergent used on towels and clothes.

You should check it out with your doctor.

Aging. Your body changes as you age. I developed allergies in the past 2 months. Never had them in my life. I'm not saying your old either. I'm only 24. Its time to switch up to something new. Maybe try Veet Sensitive hair removal cream instead. I believe you have to shave frequently to keep smooth legs(I've always used Veet). It might be too much for your skin.

BTW wait til the rash goes away and the hair starts growing back, or you'll be sorry.

Start using a diff. kind of razor. My legs used to break out, too. I use Intuition Plus: either the green or pink colored box. You can get replacement blades. The Green and Pink is for Senstive Skin.

Most likely it is egsma, especially if it is itchy. You can ask your doctor for special cream to put on everyday or like cortaid and stuff work. I have egsma on my legs to when soccer season starts from the shingaurds. I know lots of people that have it

You should take her to the doctors. They will need to see it, before anyone can tell what is wrong. She could be allergic, or even have some kind of infection. Don't wait, you need some peace and quiet.
