Turks, I think here’s the hottest discussion ever; may I ask your opinion about independent Kurdistan? I think the public opinion in Turkey should be prepared to the idea of giving Turkish Kurdistan complete independence; my reasons:
1) separating from Kurdistan will increase Turkish mono-ethnicity and stability;
2) it’s better to have a friendly or neutral (or even unfriendly) neighbour than an enemy inside;
3) no nation was ruined because of losing some territory with foreign population, e.g. GB, France, Russia; there’s nothing essentially valuable in Kurdistan; let them solve their own problems themselves, or sooner or later the whole Turkey will work for them to bribe their loyalty;
4) history says: all nations grow out of their cradles sooner or later, unless they are assimilated on their own good will; (very few examples though);

- Chetin, here I may conclude you are not concerned about Türkler or Kürtler, you are just advertising your breech-loader, right?

The situation is not that simple.
this is a deep wave coming up which even the Kurds themselves cannot stop. They'll try their chances in North Iraq for an independent state.
This state, at best, will be a vassal state. But rhetorics or soft-politics won't change thier mind

You forget about one thing: Once Turkish Kurds are released from their mother country, North Afghanistan and Iraqi Kurds might want to join them, forming a "State of Free Kurdistan". It would be an admirable move, changing the map of the world forever; but would it be desirable, too? I doubt it, although I must agree with you in most of your points.

I agree with ithinkiatetoomuch... Who gets the oil?
Why don't you give land from wherever you are, if you like them so much. Then you will have to deal with their myriad languages, honour killings and feudal lords.
Don't forget to pass a bill accusing Kurds of the Armenian "genocide", too.

there is speculation that oil will be found in SE Turkey.
If you cut the Kurds out you can then blame them for the Armenian problem since that will be their area.

Dear Kurdish Friends,
I want to ask a question for you ...
Before any asking question , why do you say your color ?
Do you support PKK ?
When you read any PKK messages for Turkish Public, what do you feel ?
