Like they have all said there would have to be a draft first, and if they were desperate enough it probably would depend on the level of ADD or depression. Yes, there are varying degrees of both.
But if you mean can a person with ADD or depression join the military, the answer is no. Unless you lie, but if you have to produce medical records that have it in there. Well.........

Sometimes yes.
Conscription is fairly common throughout the world - "the draft" is just another term for it.
In such cases, people with ADD and depression are usually called up. They're often just given any job to do, as long as it constitutes some form of national service. They may end up doing military support roles, though they're usually exempted from front line combat services.

Who knows... If, and that is a remote if, there is a draft then the authorities will decide then what disqualifies a person to serve. Assuming that women will be drafted as well.

Both problems are easily resolved with a prescription...so, yep!
Now, when and why are we gonna draft anyone?
Edit: hey...why a thumbs down???
Two now!!!
Okay, seriously...I worked in the mental health field while in the Army for 10 years...there are soldiers serving and doing quite well with depression and ADD...both treated by medication and with psychotherapy.

I'm active duty Air Force w/ no restrictions on Ritalin. They have no problem unless you are unable to function without medication (according to Air Force instruction)... And I'm guessing you mean 'can you enlist with ADD?'

Yes, and it's as simple as this:
No potential soldier undergoes a psychological evaluation. At best, the authorities can find a HISTORY of psychiatric illness. In reality? Psychopathology can go undiagnosed indefinately.
