In the creation of woman, God did not make her separate and distinct from man by forming her from the dust of the ground, as he had done in the creation of Adam. He took a rib from Adam’s side, and from it He built for Adam a perfect counterpart, the woman Eve. (Ge 2:21, 22) Adam, nevertheless, remained a perfect man, now united as ‘bone of bone and flesh of flesh’ with his wife. (Ge 2:23; De 32:4) Moreover, this did not disturb the reproductive cells of Adam so as to affect his children, boys or girls, in their rib structure. The human male and female both have 24 ribs.
A reply from the University of Berne, Professor K. Lenggenhager commented in this connection, saying:It is of interest to note that a rib that has been removed will grow again, replacing itself, as long as the periosteum (the membrane of connective tissue that covers the bone) is allowed to remain. Whether Jehovah God followed this procedure or not the record does not state; however, as man’s Creator, God was certainly aware of this unusual quality of the rib bones.
The rib bones, unlike others, can replace themselves. In a reply from the University of Berne, Professor K. Lenggenhager commented in this connection, saying:
“I can inform you that a rib, that has been removed, but whose periosteum has been left, forms itself again [or grows again]. If, however, the periosteum is removed along with the rib, the bone then does not renew itself. Usually, when ribs are removed in surgery, the periosteum is preserved, except in the case of malignant rib tumor.”

Male and females have equal number of ribs on both sides.
And then you ask "but didn't God take one rib from Adam to create Eve". The answer is yes God did take a Rib from Adam. But God did not change the genetic makeup of Adam in doing so. The sons and daughters of Adam and Eve continued to have equal numbers of ribs.
If at the age of 18 you loose a leg in a car accident. But marry later in life and have children. Those childrens of yours will be born with both legs. Your genetic make up doesn't change because of a change in your physical.

No! Men and women have the same number of ribs. Even if you do take the account of Adam and Eve literally (which I don't) only Adam would be short a rib, not his children or any other descendant!

No, we have the same amount of ribs, that was just a myth set out by Creationists...
Here you go, Wiki answer:
The human rib cage is a part of the human skeleton within the thoracic area. A typical human ribcage consists of 24 ribs, 12 on each side of the thoracic cavity, the sternum and the 12 thoracic vertebrae in BOTH MALES AND FEMALES!!!

No, this is not true.
It doesn't even make any sense! If god took a rib from ADAM and ONLY Adam, why would his DESCENDANTS also be missing ribs? And why only the MALE ones? Do amputees normally have children with only one leg?

Nope. All men and women have the exact same number of ribs. Any medical text book will do.

This is the biggest bunch of hooey ever put forth. Every human has the exactly 24 ribs, barring genetic anomaly, surgery, or an accident.

In the Bible, Genesis , Chapter 2, verse 22: The Lord God then built up into a woman the rib that he had taken from the man. When he brought her to the man, the man said: "This one, at last, is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh;" To me, as a pastor, that is about as reliable as you can get.
