There is a verse in the Qur'an which states that the coming of Muhammad was foretold in the Jewish and the Christian Scriptures.
The Qur'an seems to suggest that these prophecies would be found in the Torah and the Gospel without much difficulty, but when Muslims have applied themselves to finding these alleged predictions, they have been unpleasantly surprised to discover that in these two books it is Jesus who is the subject of the many prophecies in them and not Muhammad.
The birth of Jesus, his ministry, parables, miracles, crucifixion, resurrection, ascension, second coming, deity, glory and honour are the concerns of the prophetic texts of the Torah and the Gospel, and so extensively do these prophecies herald his advent as the ultimate climax of God's revealed truth and love towards men that one cannot help but be struck by the fact that the Bible makes no allowance for the anti-climax of a "prophet" to follow him. Such prophecies are conspicuous only by their absence.
Some Muslims insist that Muhammed was the "Comforter" Jesus promised would come after him and be with his disciples forever.
A close examination of EVERYTHING Jesus said about "The Comforter" shows clearly that it could not be Muhammad.
For a start, Muhammad could not be the Disciple's Comforter because he wasn't born until over 500 years later - following the deaths of Jesus' disciples.
The Comforter is specifically described as a Spirit. . Muhammad could not be the Comforter because he was a man not a Spirit.
The Comforter will be sent in Jesus' name. Muhammad did not come in Jesus' name, as the apostle of Jesus.
The Comforter will teach the disciples and remind them of what Christ said to them.
Muhammad is not the Comforter because he never knew the disciples and he didn't teach these disciples, and Muhammad never reminded the disciples of what Christ said.
The Comforter will take from Jesus and make it known to the disciples. Muhammad never knew Jesus and never took from Jesus and made it known to anyone.
The writings of the early Church Fathers also mention the Comforter and they all say it was the Holy Ghost. These early Church Fathers lived during the first 3 centuries of Christianity, a long time before Muhammed was born.

JazakaALLAH khayran why scholars should hide this from people? here is the answer {O you who have believed, indeed many of the scholars and the monks devour the wealth of people unjustly and avert [them] from the way of Allah. And those who hoard gold and silver and spend it not in the way of Allah - give them tidings of a painful punishment. (9:34)} {O you who have believed, take not those who have taken your religion in ridicule and amusement among the ones who were given the Scripture before you nor the disbelievers as allies. And fear Allah, if you should [truly] be believers. (5:57)}

Paraphrase of something Jesus said:
(of false prophets) By their deeds shall you know them - can thorns be picked from a fruit tree.
Also he said they were very convincing, and would don the garb of a sheep, but were wolves in sheep's clothing.
So Mohammed's relations with booty-of-war Safiyya and also Aisha would bear witness to this, also his killing people who refused to accept he was Allah's prophet and his right to rule. Also his having a slave wife Maryam and refusing to free her.
--------------
I think moslems often reference Deut 14 and prophecy regarding a prophet like Moses to be sent to Israelites. But this is not correct regarding Mohammed as the prophet was to come to Israel. Also Jesus claimed this prophecy for himself.
They also often claim paraclete ref in John 14 (I think) refers to Mohammed. Actually context makes it very clear this paraclete was to shortly come (Acts 2) to the disciples, not in 600 years. He is the Holy Spirit, about whom there are 100s of verses that further clarify and fit in with that verse.

Mohammed wasn't born until the seventh century, long after the Bible was written.
