We have to get people to move beyond rigid categorical thinking. Not neccessarily relativism, but moving toward both/and. Recognizing the truth and beauty within all beliefs. We should be able to affirm our own beliefs, and respect the differences and disagreements. Surely we can disagree without resorting to demonization and degradation of the other.

I think that it would be with great difficulty, if at all, and just in bits and pieces. People get awfully angry and defensive when it comes to defending their religious beliefs, bc they feel that eternity is at stake. They don't want to be confronted with any sort of possibility that their beliefs could be wrong, because they want to remain convinced that they are going to heaven after death.
To be confronted with the reality of not knowing what happens to you after death is something that is too much for many people to face.

Since that's the case, the only workable form of cooperation is the strictly secular form -- you know, the kind that builds roads, delivers the mail, drills soldiers and collects taxes to pay for it all.
