Well I have been in Martial Arts for 8 year now. I have been in Combat Kung Fu, Jiu Jitsu, and Muay Thai I feel that if some people came up to me I would do my best to go for the neck, brake arms, elbow tops of heads and face and just do what i know and what I do best and that's protect myself to my best ability. Not like 10 people but a couple people I feel I would get out alive. By the way good question its one to really think about its a true Martial Artist question Can you Truely defend yourself

Yes, I know I can because I have.

However, it depends on the skills and number of attackers to determine how well anyone could defend. I have never seen any thing in reality like the movies where one guy takes on a dozen then walks away without a scratch.

If it is a group of drunken punks then you only need to keep the less aggressive guys off you while you strike hard and fast at the leader while you are getting away. In most of these cases I have seen you can just keep your mouth shut and walk on by without any confrontation. But, if you must defend, do it hard and fast always looking to get away.

Can I beat them all up and stay unscratched? Nope. Can I defend myself against multiple attackers? Yep, been there before and I did what I was taught to do when confronted with multiple assailants.... Run like hell without looking back. I've said it countless times before and I'll say it again, the best proven self defense is the hundred meter dash.

depends on how many,"no more than 8" and what type of weapon they had. "gun maybe 1 take them out first " " knife-3 " "ball bats 2" " empty hand 2 " but you always want the odds in ur favor each person, type of terrain, and each person and weapon lowers ur odds.

Personally, I'd run. No, maybe kenpo for stand up, and judo for ground work. But I think the first option is your best bet.
