just tell her that those other kids are immature and that one day when they are on a pace maker they will be thanking you i dont understand why they would laugh at her but my experience with kids is that if they see a teacher is vulnerable they keep picking at them they usually wont give a teacher a chance because of their looks...but you cant make excuses for their behavior but throw in some humor ^(above...)^ that always brightens my day and just to show that someone REALLY cares and isnt trying to cover up for others would keep me going.

hope this helps

You are very kind to write a note to your teacher.

Inventing a device that will save lives is a tremendous achievement. She should be proud even if the students don't recognize it. If she invented a new video game, the results would probably be the same.

Anyway, getting back to your note-

I have a few ideas/suggestions-
1. Tell her you enjoy her classes. Bring up a few things you really liked- which lessons were fun, etc.
2. She probably knows this, but you can say it anyway- "Don't let the kids get you down. You are doing a good job and many of us are learning."
3. If the kids talk back in class, it's very difficult for her to maintain control. So, if more than one person stands up or speaks up and says, "Hey, I want to learn. Be quiet." I don't know if this will work or not, but she can hear someone resist peer pressure.
4. Tell the Unit Principal or the "Big" Principal- tell him/her that this teacher is trying very hard and these students are making it difficult for the rest of the class to learn. He/she may know this already if your teacher has gone to him/her for advice or help.
5. I am not familiar with Biblical verses, but you can say something about good friends stick by each other.

Good luck.

I go to school with kids that show disrespect to the teacher also. I know that it hurts the teacher's feelings, so you shouls say something like "thank you very much for being my teacher. You're the best teacher in the whole school." Maybe that will make the teacher feel better.

Yes, Tell her she is your favorite teacher, and that you realized you were excusing the behavior of your classmates, and knew you had made a mistake in hindsight.
To help both yourself and her, this quote may help
*Jehovah is coming with his holy myriads. 15 to execute judgment against all, and to convict all the ungodly concerning all their ungodly deeds that they did in an ungodly way, and concerning all the shocking things that ungodly sinners spoke against him.
16 These men are murmurers, complainers, about their lot in life, proceeding according to their own desires, and their mouths speak swelling things, while they are admiring personalities for the sake of [their own] benefit
This is found in the book of Jude, by analyzing scripture and family relationships, this man was Jesus Christ's half brother

Write this in her card.

1 Cor 13:4 Love is long-suffering and kind. Love is not jealous, it does not brag, does not get puffed up, 5 does not behave indecently, does not look for its own interests, does not become provoked. It does not keep account of the injury. 6 It does not rejoice over unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth. 7 It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

8 Love never fails.

Don't even bother mentioning the other kids, you can't speak for them and she understands that. You should speak for yourself and from the heart. Thank her for the things she has taught you and for the example she is. I am a teacher, and I am grateful that you even recognize the things that teachers sometimes face. Just be sincere and personal.

How about telling her the story about the she-bear that ate those 40 kids for making fun of a bald guy??

Dear, its nice and all that you are concerned, but your teacher is an adult. If she doesnt realize that children can be mean and that this is something all teachers go through, then perhaps she isnt a good candidate for teaching...
