Curious how this will be answered. Before anybody says it, yes there is a difference.

I think the people who are weak and need faith are the ones who are always boasting about it and trying to make others share that faith. They wear it where everyone can see it. The ones who are strong enough to have faith are usually quiet about it unless asked. They wear it, but it's not overtly obvious.

This is an awesome question. And I'm not sure really.
I don't need faith. I was fine with out it. Am I happier? No. Am I more at PEACE? Yes. I recognize that it's not life or death, but it is a part of me and my life that does bring me an inner peace that I haven't found before. It's a leap of faith. It's not a faith based on FEAR. It's faith based on faith.
There are those who can't seem to deal with "life". They need to hang it all over to a divine being or blame it all on a divine being. There is no reasoning, they is simply resignation. They feel no need to stand up to their life, the simply sit back and wait for life to do what ever. Before anyone jumps down my throat, not every Christian is like this. I know some really awesome Christians who totally have their **** together. Others want an "easy fix" and think religion can do it. I've met PAGANS who do the same thing.
I think it's an almost undefinable "something" in someone that makes the difference. I doubt I even explained it. LOL

Purff does have a nice idea on it as well.

Hestia I would be lying my *** off if I didn't admit that I go crying to Odin at times to "fix something" for me. He generally reminds me that that is not always how things work, but we ARE human.

This answer is based on the assumption that you are referring to faith in relation to a Supreme Being or God. Reality is extremely difficult to deal with sometimes. Life is full of suffering and death. This plays on the emotions of love and fear. People fear that not only themselves, but, those they love will one day suffer and die. Dying is inevitable and conquering this fear is not nearly as difficult as the fear of suffering, whether it involves the individual or a loved one. The weak need faith when the fear of suffering and death is not imminent. Some people are strong enough to have faith when they are in the midst of dealing with suffering and perhaps dying, whether it is their own life or that of a loved one. Some people refer to these situations as times when one’s faith is being tested.

Why do you want to know? Do you wonder where you fit in? Why do you find it necessary to distinguish between weak and strong anyway? So you can feel superior to somebody?I ask these questions because I don't understand yours. And I'm going to say it anyway,no, there is no difference, faith is faith is faith, people are people, some are more secure in it than others is all.

We are weak enough to need a faith that will make us strong enough to keep it, even when people try to tell us otherwise.

I have faith DESPITE my hardships not because of a need for a crutch. I know that my Gods are not going to give me a "free pass" just for saying "I'm sorry" and not doing what is needed to correct the situation....

I also believe that sometimes the Gods give us trials to strengthen us but are willing to help IF we ask AFTER doing EVERYTHING in our own power to help ourselves. (The story of Hercules and the carter springs to mind here)

Of course, I am also not above shamelessly asking Apollo and Asclepius to sustain my mother in ICU.... (I know I'M not qualified to treat her A.R.D.S. and Colon/Liver cancer) but I am also willing to pray for ANYONE in a similar situation

I think that strong faith is only needed when your position is weak on its own merits.

there are a number of books that the Lord led me to study that extra advantageous my faith and shown it. One such e book became "Tortured for Christ" by potential of Richard Wurmbrand. i became on the top of the top of my rope in an attempt to talk after being abused for see you later by potential of the daddy of my babies, so it became time for God to bare himself to me in a powerful provocative way. you will could study the e book your self to comprehend, and it would influence many, yet not easily everyone. we could be waiting for it.
