Religion begins when somebody decides they have found the best way to make up mind about self and world and go about the business of sharing that way with others. Religions spread from person to person through a process known as communication. Religions require believers to have faith that their way of making up mind about self and world is the best way to make up mind about self and world. The study of religions is important in as much as understanding communities of faithful believers self organized around religious belief is important; because they are a part of our world and we deal with them in our every day lives. I say to atheists that scientists are far from proving that the perfection of an infinity divinity eternally one does or does not exist. We live in a new age of ideology with new truths and new myths that our ancestors were not privileged to have.
I assimilate new truth and knowledge based on scientifically reproducible discovery as it becomes available to me into my model of self and world. If this new truth and knowledge contradicts a previously built framework of myth and fantasy then the framework of myth and fantasy must be rebuilt in order to accommodate this new truth and knowledge. I combine my foundation of truth and knowledge with my newly rebuilt framework of myth and fantasy to create a model of self and world that is credible.
The measure of the perfection of any given model of self and world is its' ability to best satisfy the need and aspiration to achieve and maintain good health and happiness. By this measure for me to bring my model of self and world to perfection is to imagine a framework of myth and fantasy about self and world that produces the most powerful emotional responses of joy, faith and love imaginable, and build this upon a foundation of truth and knowledge about self and world that produces the most powerful physiological responses of good health possible. I devote energy, space, and time towards the accomplishment of the goal of reaching this perfection and teaching others how to do so by use of the many examples contained within the text of this House of Ideology Manifesto. It is all about the process of moving from point A to point B: moving from being an Agnostic to being a Believer.

I'm a Buddhist, and besides obvious things like I of course personally think they have the most on-the-spot understanding of Reality (like adherents of all religions of course think of their own religion), and its peacefulness and open-mindedness towards people of other faiths and opinions, I would especially mention the fact that it not only has just about the same morals as all religions (don't kill, lie, and steal, be loving, compassionate, patient, generous, and so on), but that it also, which is the reason it exists at all, has a great multitude of techniques and practice on how you can actually transform your own mind into these ideals. So, not only be compassionate because your God or Prophet or Holy Scriptures say so, but try this or that technique to really MAKE yourself more compassionate, loving, generous, etc, than you would ever think you could be!

Mine is Buddhism, I love it because:
- It's open-minded and tolerant;
- It promotes unconditional peace, love and compassion;
- It respects all other religions;
- It's more like a philosophy than a religion, which is based on reasoning and life experience, not on enthusiasm and blind faith. That said, you are a Buddhist not because anybody told you there is a Buddha and you should worship him to get blessed, blahblahblah, but by Buddhist teachings that is persuasive and justified by what you have observed from your real life;
- It's not only a philosophy, but a methodology, so everybody can pick his own way that leads to Nirvana. Buddhism doesn't waste a lot of time on "you should", but understand the different level of human beings on enlightenment and try to give them a hint of "how".
- Buddhism is not for "black-or-white" logic and recognize variety in human being's society. It doesn't distinguish people from each other that much but hold that everybody has a same "Buddha nature". It also doesn't want everybody to be a saint from tomorrow, but provides some approaches to make progress gradually. It's not like some other religion, who demand everybody to be 100% holy and all people who fail that are considered same evil. That is against our experience cuz most people are in-between God and Satan with different level. Yes, raping a woman in your mind is sinful too, but it's quite different from raping her in reality.

My religion is Christian Orthodox(Greek). I am not that religious person but I like many things about it.
In Greece we used to believe in the Olympus 12 gods in ancient times and to other minor gods and goddesses. With orthodox Christianity we can believe in the saints the same way, have our name days, have traditions from byzantine times, wonderfull icons in different way painted than Western churches.It is not strict religion and i think it's probably the only Christian religion that still has a bit of pagan in it!!

I'm Christian. I like the fact that there's always a "forgiveness u-turn" if I need it. :) Knowing that God will give me limitless power when necessary is a nice gift to have in this world. :)
There are too many silly rules in other religions. I'm a believer in "just love Jesus" and leave it at that.

Its not about religion for me. Its a relationship. A relationship with Jesus. I like that fact that its all about Him and not me. All I had to do was accept Jesus and He does the rest. I am saved through Grace through faith, not by works. No matter what, He will never leave me, my salvation with never expire. Hope I have answered your question.

I have no religion, no belief in a god, and no belief that I am above any others.
If people wish to believe their religion is the only true way I have no problem, as long as they don't try to blow me to bits.

I'm a church of Christ member, a religious group emerged in Far east Asia.What I truly value in my religion's the genuine faith & submission of its members to all doctrines,you'll feel & see the true meaning of self-sacrifice,relative preachings on our everyday surroundings all based in holy bible,you'll feel God's spirit during worship service & everyday in your life.You will feel Him punishing you when mistakes are made, blessing you when you abide & cherish all his commandments & forgiving, loving you unconditionally even you fail Him.Genuine fear & obedience reside in my heart, whether someone or no one sees me, I do my best to hold on tight to this gift of faith & learning. I don't question people of different beliefs, I just look around me, see the difference & there's one thing i've proven, people can see what type of a person you are & will respect your faith based upon how they see you live out your life.

I love the wholeness and completeness, the oneness and the calling and gathering. I love the secrets in the oak, the whisper in the leaves, the dragons breath in the fog, the water as it cleanses and energizes, the fire that burns bright with he passions and the earth, in her stability, I love the tolerance and acceptance of all peoples, I love that my path is personal and private, the energy and similarities, the animals of land, sea and air,the respect for all things great and small. Even te rocks have stories and legends to tell, the many wonders and the peace I feel in my grove, and in my stone circle with my oaks. many blessings in the light sweet wench.
