Per ounce, beer has fewer calories. However, that's not how people normally drink it. A 12 ounce beer has about 200 calories and one shot of vodka will have about 200 calories. So if you drink three beers or three shots of vodka, you'll consume about the same amount of calories. If you mix the vodka with some sort of fruit juice or soda, you can add more calories. The short answer, it depends upon how you plan to drink it.

I have done my research for the low calorie/low carb beer. Miller Lite and Bus Select and the best. They both have about 3 carbs each. Vodka/Rum/Whiskey/Teq. all have 0 carbs, so if you mix it with Coke Zero or Diet Coke I think you will be alright.
Tip: Long Islands mostly consist of alcohol all which don't have carbs except for the sweet and sour mix and coke which is only a splash.

If you drink vodka with club soda or diet soda, that is low calorie. Or, Michelob Ultra or Becks Light beers.

wine spritzer is actually your best bet. or just plain wine. 5 ounce pour of wine is about 100 calories with no fat and very little nutritional value. i.e. no carbs for the diet group.
avoid anything with fruit juice or premade mixes like margaritas. they are nothing but liquid sugar.
i usually have diet soda with rum if i must have hard liquor.

Vodka is usually ok for diets because it has 0 gm of carbs. There is no "diet" alcohol though. You're just gonna have to practice moderation. Enjoy and have one for me!

There are a few, the only one I can really think of now is Sleeman Clear... But depending on where you are I'm not sure if it's available there.
