Most ALL the scenes were different as the 2 shows themselves were very different. Sure, both are loosely based on actual events and both have pretty big families. But one is set near the end of the wild west and the other at the begining of prohibition/the great depression. One is about a family with nothing but each other farm the land and prosper. The other about a family dealing with being poor and prosperous during the great depression. While we know of John Boy's love of writing, we never see Laura Ingles love of writing, only her love of teaching. However, the 'real' John Boy (Earl Hamner, Jr) and the real 'Laura Ingle Wilder' had great success telling the stories of their respective families. I wonder if Earl Hamner, Jr. ever read any of the 'Little House' books written by Laura??

Although both families are considered to be pillars of their communities. The Waltons owned the mountain they lived on and were farmers. On Little House on The Prarie...they are settlers as well as farmers. LHOP also only have 4 kids where the Waltons have a gazillion. LHOP also has some comedy in it what with the store owners (Nellie's family) where as there wasn't any real comedy relief on the Waltons. I couldn't stand either show.
