Darth is right with the whole high fructose corn syrup thing. It isn't converted to insulin so we are allowed to consume large amounts of empty calories. Fast food is another issue with it's addictive properties. Eat to live and not live to eat.

People in the developed part of the world are much fatter and suffer from over weight while the situation is just opposite in underdeveloped countries such as Africa,Nepal etc where the people are mostly underweight\malnurished and die from stravation.
People in america are much more economically developed and are consuming more starch relatted foods such as bread, cornflakes etc. They are also frequently eating fatty fast food such as potatoe chips, french fries etc.they are also too lazy to excercise.
Hence they are overweight.

I agree, I think the French especially eat a lot, but mostly fresh and they look pretty good. Of course those of Asian decent also eat a lot of very fresh healthy food. I myself have started to leave all the boxes alone and start cooking from fresh ingredients, I have to say I love it.

Interesting how in America the entire sin of gluttony thing is overlooked while gay people's lives are made miserable by the same people overlooking, justifying and excusing the gluttony. It's called Pick and Choose Christianity.

I think it should be a shocking wake up call.
But unfortunatly, what is happening is the public are being bombarded with all sorts of conflicting stats on how obese we are, what to eat or not to eat, whats posion and whats good etc, so they just ignore everything and continue living sad, distructive lives and thats all she wrote.

I believe it is called being greedy. Wanting to have it all or whatever. A culture of stuffing the stomach above its ability.
No offense

Part of it is probably all the corn syrup we ingest (well, I try not to).

It's even in freaking Gatorade.
