I never swear, and I am a junior in college that's been living in dorms. I just have never felt like I needed to swear, and never have (except for the time when a person in front of me wasn't moving fast enough while crossing the street and a car was coming that wasn't going to stop for me...) It used to bother me a lot when people swore, but not anymore, although it does bother me when people have to swear every other word.
For the solving math equations; you don't have to multiply by one, but your teacher would like you to. I'm thinking that your teacher just wants you to be in a habit of seeing the quantity of each variable instead of just assuming that something without a coefficient equals 1.

Seriously? How can any simple be expected to answer such a direct question concerning the spirit world? Anyway, now heed what I say, you can only become a curse if you die a horrible and anger filled slow death. Oh, and if you choose to plague a person or location, you may never get into heaven, 'may' that is, I'm not sure though, it has been a while.

Well, I curse. It kinda comes out naturally when I talk about things that make me mad. I think that now, through every aspect of life, cuss words are being more and more commonly added to conversations. Television, internet, music, games. Everything is using cuss words more cassualy than ever before. Your not alone in the non-cursing thing, but there are alot of people accepting it as the norm.
BTW: if it is 1x, it is just an x. You dont even need the one on there. Just leave it out of the equasion all together and you'll be fine.

there are two types...bad words and blaspheme (using God's names improperly). i do neither, in school, everyone thought i was "perfect" and that may have beenpart of the reason why. nothing bad comes out of it. people might make fun at you, but only likely because they are convicted because you are obeying and they are not. as you get older, your character will be valued by more and more people. do not loose it.
the third type, the more correct to the name, is saying something negative about something, someone, often referring to Hell...i do not do this either. i am to judge myself alone...i will leave everyone else up to God
the math question: not necessary, just teacher's preference - maybe a good thing to do to help remind you of a certain fact the teacher wants to stress...do it for the teacher, but stop when you get a teacher who does not require it

I'm sort of the same way with the swearing. I don't like it when people around me sweaar cause I think that one day they'll come up to me and give me a hard time. Its best just to ignore them and have as little to do with swearing as possible. Swearing truly is the language of the idiot, and I know many people agree that cursing every which way is the sign of the stupid.
For the math, its not necessary, but its a good habit.

It's most upsetting to me when people curse. Especially around my kids. The best explanation is that these are people that are too ignorant to express themselves in an intelligent way. Too bad they have no idea how foolish they actually sound.
The math thing, you may want to keep multiplying by one. It's annoying now, but it might be good practice for when you have to solve for multiple variables.

No... I don't generally. Recently, I've begun to curse a little, on very rare occasions, but nothing terrible, and not every other word.
The variable one- NO! If your teacher gets mad, he's retarded. My math teacher doesn't even get mad at me when he writes a problem like 3x-4y+6x-2y=4; and I've already solved it when he writes step 1.

For the first question, I believe your answer is no, I do not curse either and do not appreciate people doing that around me. For the second question, it sounds like it is a way of your teacher and a pet peeve also. Never heard of multiplying by one before, does not do anything...

Nowhere does it say that you have to curse. Honestly, it sounds very uneducated. There is always a better word to use. Don't get me wrong, I'm guilty of cursing also, sometimes it just comes out, but I rarely do it intentionally.
As for your math, I have no idea, I haven't taken any math classes since my first semester of college.

No, I don't curse. It bothers me when I hear it too. And you would think that my coworkers would know better, because they are professionals and very smart people.
As for the equation, I can't see why that would make a difference, but perhaps your teacher is trying to get you to learn a very special technique. I suggest you approach your teacher and explain that you don't understand why he/she wants you do to that and ask for additional explanation.
