Whether you are just beginning or you've had some lessons, you can go to your music store and look through their guitar method books to find one that has popular melodies you may like that are graded to your performance level. I've had experience with a bunch of books I used when I was learning to play (available at http://www.ronnylee.com/guitar/index.html), and which are well organized and easy to follow and have a lot of well-known melodies.
