I see your point. They have already taken over communities in our cities. We can't go to certain areas because noone speaks English there anymore. However, I don't think they will ever make Spanish the official language, but it certainly FEELS like everywhere you go, EVERYTHING is in Spanish.
Wal-Mart, Kroger....you have to walk around to the OTHER side of the sign to read the ENGLISH side. What a crock of shhht!

English is the international language of most countries and businesses. I dont see it happening. Yes I agree that we are being invaded. But the majority of those invaders cant do anything to change their home country. What on earth makes you think they can change this one?

You're right, we're being invaded, but Spanish will never become the official language of the United States. We're not taking this lightly any longer and real Americans are going to start taking matters into our own hands.
No offense, but you need to come down from the clouds. What makes you think Hispanics can overtake the United States? We have over 300 million legal citizens while Mexico has 100 million. Good luck with that reconquista.
The United States does not belong to Mexicans or Hispanics. They seem to have a very false sense of entitlement - not to mention they don't have the slightest clue about the results of the Mexican-American war and the treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo.

Adding to the question --
why are we bending over to make so many exceptions for Spanish speakers when we ARE a melting pot of many countries and languages? (they melt into english.. lol)
Spanish (i.e. from spain) have adapted and learned english, why can't mexicans?
Irish, Italians, Germans, Chineese, Japanese... All these people some of which have completely contradicting speech communication methods to english have all adapted. Why do we not adapt to them, but we do adapt to Mexicans?
Is it because they represent a larger proportion of our population than previous (legal) immigrants?

It's not going to happen, did they make Gaelic the official language when the Irish came here? No they didn't.
Those who are speaking Spanish are only getting menial low paying jobs. Those illegals who are able learn English do it because they see the advantages. The ones who don't bother learning English are the ones with no real intention of staying (even if they have no immediate plans for leaving)

It will probably happen on the year 2108. It is estimated that the Hispanic population in a 100 year will be the mayority in the USA. There will be a Hispanic descendant President and several members of congress will also be hispanics. I don't know if they will change the language, but it could happen. All of you will be dead, so who cares!!

Never. We don't have an official language now. I don't see us ever adopting a policy of an "official" language.
