i have this months nascar illustrated, there's an artical about just this situation. Jack Roush himself has between 80, and 90 cars in his garage. they were suppose to go for the 2008 season, they were all built before nascar made the decision to go full time with the Car of Tomorrow, now none of them will see the light of day. he has to get rid of them to make room for the new COT's for next year.

what will become of the old cars when nascar goes full time next year?

Arca teams will get a good bit of them. But there are so many that Cup teams are getting rid of, that most of them will probably become trash.

I think it would be great if the teams just hold an open house auction and let fans come in and haul some of the old car bodies away, that would be a great way to clean them all out.

The outdated automobiles gets bought to ARCA communities, driving colleges, and classic racers. I wager they are going to pass low-priced! A rolling chassis for $one hundred fifteen,000? it extremely is finished B.S! i'm able to get Cup automobiles and not using a drivetrain for 30 to $40,000 and much less. somebody's packed with it. think of i'm mendacity? detect a Nascar Scene mag and look at the classifieds.

Busch Series? You would have to cut them apart to make them match the Nationwide frame.

Nationwide (Busch) cars are:
- 5 inches shorter in the wheelbase
- 1/2 inch shorter
- 2 inches wider

I know the ARCA/Remax series uses the same cars. It might be possible (I am not completly) sure what are required for the West/Busch East and Hooters Pro-cup series. I believe ASA is trying to make a return as well. They might also be modified for weekly racing series. They also still make great show cars.

Most will get sold off to ARCA teams, since the current cars and ARCA cars are very similar. Some will be used in the museum etc, etc.

The cup teams will sell them to ARCA teams. ARCA runs old cup cars. Which means next year ARCA will have to sell all of their cars that they have now to run the cup car!

I'm sure they will reconfigure them to meet NASCAR rules and sell of what they do not need. They also can change them to meet the standards of Bush(now Allstate) series. One of NASCAR's reasons for developing the COT was to save money by keeping the cars the same from track to track. Therefore teams do not need to have so many cars. They estimate that teams will only need 7 to 10 cars to be competitive verses the 20 to 25 cars each team must have right now.
