I mean come on now :D if you dont believe in God why spend your time discussing a being you believe doesnt exist. Then you rant on about how he should die and he is an sob well most of you do anyways. You quote scripture and then try to make believers believe you. Its okay to quote and read the bible but why? Then you put down believers for believing? If he doesnt exist why spend time talking about him and insulting him. Do you have anger against him because it seems a majority of you seem as if you believe but you dont want to. Why spend time talking about God or god's that you believe dont exist. Find a better hobby. :D

I would like people of all religions to also put their views in as well

if you dont agree with christians then dont listen. I think the problem is that you search through the religious questions and try to put down people just for fun. Its easy not to pay attention.

I have read history and recently people without religion are more violent than people without. They show no morals but that is just to comment on an answer below.

We do? I do?
Actually I probably spend more time over in optical, but I certainly spend much more time repainting and redecorating the house I've just moved into.

Here is just relaxation, keeping an eye on what those with religious beliefs are prepared to say, and responding to that.

Religion and religious folk exist, quite independent of the existence of a deity, and that matters since (to be fair, consistent with Christian doctrine) many feel charged to share their belief with others at best, and impose their social mores on the world at worst.
Both free speech and reciprocity suggest that alternate viewpoints get an airing!

Oh, and my main hobby is model railways.

You question doesn't make any sense. Just because you put words together to form sentences doesn't mean that there is a coherent thought behind it.

1. I have never heard an atheist say "he" should die and he is a snob.
2. We quote scripture because we are capable of learning something without accepting it as the truth. The main reason why I quote scripture is to prove the ridiculousness of the bible.
3. We do not have to believe in Christianity to be interested in it. I love Greek mythology that doesn't mean I look for Athena when I am in the woods.
4.Atheists are not mad at god. That is impossible. If they were, they would be theists. it is a very simple concept.
5. You think god would want atheists to stop thinking about god or learning about religion if he did exist? You think more people would be glad that atheists are interested in the subject. At least that seems like the "Christ" like thing to do.

The ones who act like that just don't understand. Not because they're incapable, they just don't.

Most don't speak out against God. Some (and not all, or most even, just a large number that happen to be on YA) either see their way as the only correct way or they judge us by the actions of false Christians.

I still don't get why some feel I'm not enlightened or that I'm in any way ignorant or incapable of rational or logical thought. I'm quite capable. I looked at everything that was there and this is the answer that made the most sense to me. I wasn't tricked into this or brainwashed into this, I freely chose this. So get off my case. My convictions are sincere and well thought out, no more and no less than their particular convictions

I'll quit ranting now. And this isn't directed at all atheists (I love you Ash!). Just the ones that attack me and call me ignorant or deceived or deluded for what I believe

I do not spend most of my time on YA at all, let alone on one category. I usually begin my morning with 2 hours of martial arts exercise. then, I use my computer an hour or two checking e-mail, answering or posting questions here, etc. i do not say much about gods, for they do not exist. I seek truth, so I reply to some nonsense to educate people. i have had exchanges with moslems and hindus. I know much about the major religions of the world. the thing is that christians have the most stuff and the silliest stuff on here, so I reply to them more, simply because there is more to which to reply. I do not discriminate. I see no good reason to believe in any gods at all.

No, I do not have anger against god. I'm an atheist, I just surf here when I'm bored. I don't say god should die, how could I say that? I don't believe in him.

I speak out against people who say that christianity is the true religion ( i mean, come on there are at least 300 others)
I don't rant. Don't group everyone as one.
I don't put down believers for believing,if someone says that everyone else will burn obviously I will say something though. And same for creationism, and how there's 'no evidence' for evolution.

those claiming they have data have not truly shown data. The universe isn't data. there is not any connection between the idea "A universe exists" and the end "consequently god exists." What it truly is, like many different "proofs" the following, is an argument from incredulity. not understanding the answer to a question isn't data that a "god" did it. If we relied on that form of "good judgment" lets nevertheless be contained in the darkish a lengthy time period. i'm putting a funky link to a counter-apologetics website that theists and atheists alike could likely take a inspect earlier getting into any type of discussion on the challenge of the existence of a god or gods.

Amen!!! They always try to put us down for being a Christian and say such evil things about God but you know what they'll believe in Him when they are at the judgment seat of God.

Why do you concoct straw man arguments to paint atheists in a negative light? Show me the quotes by "most" of them saying "he is an sob". You can't. Even though the atheists have a position you don't like, you could learn some moral lessons from them. That is why they answer.

Dear friend,
The Bible states;'The fool has said in his heart ''there is no God'.I believe atheists are afraid there might be a God after all. They rant and rave to convince themselves.I can understand the agnostics better. After all we do not know but we believe. The evidence for God and creation are overwhelming.

I don't like to allow irrationality to run rampant.

I don't rant on how "God should die". Where are you getting your information?

Why shouldn't I quote something for the purpose of demonstrating it's flaws? If it indeed IS flawed, why wouldn't I want people to realize this before they dedicate their lives to it?

I actually care that people float through life oblivious to reality. I also actually care about the political decisions made by believers, decisions that effect MY life regardless of whether I've consented to adhere to the dictates and standards of THEIR personal faith.

By the way, lose the insipid "smiley faces". They do nothing but make you appear sneering and insincere.

*edit* I --would-- ignore Christians and leave them to their delusions if they'd just keep their religion out of the secular law. I'm not a Christian and I'm within my rights to not be a Christian. I therefore shouldn't be forced by law to obey the Christian religion. For instance if I happened to be a lesbian, I would be legally barred from marrying any women I may happen to love because the CHRISTIAN RELIGION is enacting legislation that defines marriage too narrowly.
