This trainer at my gym and this other guy(these are two older guys in their 50's)were making conversation when suddenly the trainer said something.I asked the other guy what it was and he said they were discussing how hard it was to find suitable partners in this day and age because women are so picky or whatever,but the trainer(who is on cool terms with me)said i bet he doesn't have a girfriend.but not in a malicious way.I have good things going for me-in shape,intelligent good musician.(23 years old) I got a little sensitive about it and asked the other guy if he was intently bagging on me and he said no,that they were just talking about relationships in general.What do i make of all of this and how should i take it?

It hit a nerve.......and sounds to me like you are way too sensitive. Why would you think someone was bagging on you over something you just said wasn't malicious? They were commenting themselves how hard it is to find a partner and blaming it on the women. That should have been your first clue that they are clueless! Anything said regarding you should have been tossed out with all the other garbage coming out of their mouths. Don't waste another minute thinking about their words....you said it yourself...you have good things going for you, so believe it and live it.

Don't worry about it. They were discussing how hard it is to find a mate and in your case he was probably saying that it was even hard for a guy like you to find someone. Not anything against you but against girls being super judgmental and picky.

I can't understand why you should get bothered about these guys . Your 23 they are in their 50's
Being in my 50's I know they would both be wishing they could swap places with you .
Be cool about it and just laugh at them.
Make a joke about it .

Maybe he actually gave you a compliment. He could have been saying this guy is good looking and women are so picky they don't even want to go out with him. SHEEEESH, quit being so touchy
