I did get one, in 1961. I had lost it within less that a year, and am still sick about it. I wish I had never had one. You read often of people recovering their ring because someone caught a fish which had swallowed it, or some such remarkable thing, and I have wished so many times that I had mine back. When our daughter graduated from high school, we gave her a choice of a graduation ring, or a nice piece of jewelry of equal cost. She chose a birthstone ring, and has been happy with her choice. Neither my husband nor I have ever worn our college graduation rings, and he hasn't worn his HS ring since HS.
I think that graduation rings are a practice that has gone out of style--they no longer even look anything alike, and that was the whole point of the thing. Now you can get any color stone, all sorts of engravings for different areas of special study, and there is nothing that shows that you were part of one special particular group. I even saw some this past year which did not even have the year of graduation included!--???
If I had it to do again, I would NOT buy one.

Yep, I got one. It cost at least a hundred dollars and I wore it for maybe two weeks. And never again. Complete waste of money. Turns out the people who wear them are the people who still live with their parents 10 years later and are working at the same job they had in high school. High school rings are not fashionable or even worn much at all in college. Or college rings, for that matter.

I got one when I was in school. It cost $350.00. I have been out of school for 8 years and I don't wear my ring. I'm not even sure where it is.
